Except for it isn't going to be Gruden. Literally nothing points to it ever being Gruden.
I despise the Gruden narrative, not because it isn't fun, or because it wouldn't be awesome if it actually happened, but because the obsession that is only going to continue to build is going to lead to a very dissatisfied portion of the fan base that isn't going to give our real coach a chance, regardless of how good a hire it might be.
You people are already setting the next guy up for failure in your minds.
Its people like you who are going to end looking really dumb if it is Gruden. Not give our coach a chance? Give me a freaking break. Us fans gave Dooley and Butch a chance. If we hire a great coach and start winnig, it wont matter. Now will some say oh what could have been with Gruden? Of course. And there is nothing wrong with that. I wish some people would just let fans have their dreams about Gruden.

Because it's not logical to think he would actually give up his plush job, to come to UT. Heck while we are at it, let's just throw Saban, Meyer and Belichick into the mix.
Yes it is completely logical. We know for a fact that Gruden was very interested in the UT job in 2012. He has said he loves Tennessee. So its really illogical to believe that Gruden might want to get back into coaching? And if he does, it's completely illogical that he would want to coach at his alma matter? Whats crazy are ones like you that say its impossible.

Yea. A huge portion of the fan base was so let down they never gave Butch Jones a chance. Even though they had to Google his name just to figure out who the coach was going to be.
There are parts of the fan base that never did. And now our fan base is even more jaded than ever before. It really isn't a hard concept.
That's ridiculous. Season tickets were at an all time high. All Butch had to do was show progress and the fans would have continued to support him. This is the most loyal fan base in football and to think otherwise is ignorant. To say hoping for a big hire, whether that be Gruden or someone that brings instant credibility, is wrong because it might affect the attitude of VOL fans toward the next Johnny mcGoogleme is a loser way of thinking. Set your goals higher, dude. You might be surprised what you can accomplish.

There's nothing wrong with having high goals. Kelly, Mullen, Frost, and Patterson are all logical, impact coaches.
Gruden is never coming here, and it's pretty obvious.
