'18 TN RB Master Teague

I saw every game last year and have watched this kid play the last 5 years. Character is not an issue with this kid in the least. High morals and puts God and family before all things His stock at UT is fine, he is not looking to have someone confirm his abilities or "how good he is or much he is needed" but I do believe he wants a program that is excited to have him on board. I watched the Bradley game maybe I am biased... here is a snipet you tell me...4 touchdowns in that game... I can see why he wasn't impressed.
21 carries for 166yds 200 all purpose yards...

I'm just hoping we go after Teague for that in-state thing. I'm just all for getting all of those talented in-state recruits that we can get. I mean all of them if we can but we know that's already not happened with 2-3 top rated guys committing out of state.

However, we can go after the rest as hard as we can & try to get them to come here & that includes Master Teague. He's not the #1 rated overall RB but he's between #5-#10 overall & is a 4* talent. I really like Zamir White & Curie-Elliott as well.

Devon Lawrence & one of the latest guys we offered Levonte Valentine also look really good on film. Franklin to me I'm not as impressed with as some of these other guys I've mentioned. Thanks.

This staff seems to out think themselves every year when it comes to guys like this. Teague will be this year's Jacob Phillips

It happens. No perfect evaluations.Generally our staff has been above average at them.

Was not at the game but was just telling you what he told me.

Not seeing a trend.

Just because our staff may not think as highly of a recruit (not even proven in this case) as we fans do, or even other schools staffs do, does not mean they are starting some crazy trend of completely whiffing on TN kids. We don't know exactly what it is they are looking for, but for the most part, they've done a good job on finding the people they want. They've missed on some along the way, but they have also done a great job on finding some (that others missed) along the way.

Eh we've yet to see if that's true or not yet. Seems like most of the guys we've had pan out so far have been big time recruits, ones that a lot of schools wanted, or (in the case of Sutton and JRM) were originally committed to the previous staff.

2018 will be the year that shows whether some of the lower ranked guys they've found have been hits or whether they'd have been better off staying in state for guys like Dodson and Orr IMO. Unless a bunch of the lower ranked guys from the past two classes bust out as freshman and sophomores this year, the jury is still out on whether the staff is truly finding and getting commits from underrated kids or whether that's just a narrative they've been selling.

Today I learned that UT is not pushing for enough lower-ranked, in-state players.

The point was that the staff has missed out on a productive player in state player in a position of need each year. And in most cases, had they pursued that player early on they could have had them. It does seem to be a pattern and don't you think 'star rankings' go out the window once they are in college and produce?

It's like sanddune made an observation and it set people off and I don't understand why.

I'm really starting to question the CRG hype. Finishing second doesn't count for anything in recruiting. Don't get me wrong, I'm not meaning to be, and am not hyper critical of CRG. Akers AND Chandler would have been an insane haul. Whiffing on Teague for any reason is not a good idea.

So other than Akers who was a longshot who has CRG missed on? We have had and do have amazing backs that have been developed well.

Is he whiffing on Teague if he isn't heavily pursuing him?
