'18 TN RB Master Teague

Was it really that hard for the staff to identify this kid before mushchump? Geez...I know you good feelings only guys are going to kill me for this, but this is dumb....IMO.

He is not the only decent rb prospect out there. He is very good, but not elite can't miss. I'm very confident in CRG and feel it will all work itself out in the end.

I don't think it has anything to do with identifying talent. I just think that our staff believe that other available RB's are better suited for our offense than Teague.

Can you imagine what the mood on this board would have been like had we let Jalen Hurd go somewhere else, in an effort to sign Alvin Kamara? It would have been insane. But, in the long run, it appears that for our offense, Kamara might have been the better choice.

Remember OP, on message boards, in-state = 5*, future NFL Pro Bowler, can't miss prospect.

If we're talking lineman or QB, then I'll change my tune, but for skill positions, there's usually 5-7 similar prospects in the surrounding states.

My doppelganger?

"The Vols have other running backs they seem to be pursuing hard: Lyn-J Dixon, Tae Provens (who says the Vols lead), and Christian Turner.

One name not being mentioned much at the running back position is Master Teague from the mid-state. Right now South Carolina appears to have a comfortable lead for him."

Hate missing out on an instate recruit like this even if he isn't at the top of the coaches board. Be nice if Tennessee curb stomps South Carolina this year and puts them in their place.

Teague might just not like UT that much. Could it be that simple? Just because you're from a state doesn't mean you have to love the state school. The coaches may feel they can better use their resources elsewhere.

I think UT is not as high on him and has been that way since the beginning.

He likes UT but maybe the love isn't mutual.

I don't get it but what do I know? We can get mad about recruits all we want but it won't make any difference whatsoever.

Hopefully this changes because once again Blackman has a few highly talented players and this could cut off that pipeline.

We will see

I don't either..this is dumb.

You guys are sure making a lot of assumptions not knowing anything about the relationship between Teague and UT. I would love to have him, if CRG feels he is who he wants. Otherwise I am open to see who they pursue.

Still a ton of time before signing day. It may play out and he ends up here.

Well great just went midnight to six. Thanks.

Yeah..see I don't agree with that idiot either. It is just my opinion from what I've seen of Teague, that it is a dumb, and lazy mistake not to go all out for him. I agree CRG may feel he has somebody else he likes better lined up...he better have. It's obvious Teague has already formed a good relationship with SC, just because they went all out for him.

Keep in mind UT has its offers 2019 on Trey Knox a JR wideout Adonis Otey ATH at Jr at Blackman as well ... a little pipeline building would be good for both programs. Just sayin.:ermm:

Especially if you live in Tennessee.

THIS could "cut off the pipeline"? Delicate little bunch running around in that burg. :hmm:

The numbers this kid has put up, really can't comprehend why he would not be a priority. Especially if he has teammates that are already on our radar. Not to forget, what would be Jennings take on the situation. Would he have any bearing one way or the other with MT

For me it's not the numbers, heck Jalen Hurd had MONSTROUS high school numbers...It is the style. This kid is in the Kamara/Kelly mold..He is tailor made for this offense. That is why I think it is way beyond stupid to have not made him the priority #1 RB a long time ago. But heck..lets just blindly trust CRG on this one..amirite?

You obviously feel passionate about this and I'm not going to belittle, but you brought up Kelly. I remember a number of "must have"'s in his recruiting class and that his name wasn't among them. The narrative that was spun when Butch was hired was that he couldn't recruit big time running backs. Rightly or wrongly Hurd counted as a five star exception...then Kamara then Kelly then Chandler. Not "blindly" trusting Gillespie, just trusting my own eyes observing past results.
