Of the 5 I listed all should have won except UGA. I threw it in there because it would have legitimized us and put us in a bowl.

Overall point was that Butch has been very close but just hasn't gotten over that hump. Hope he does cause his window is going to close if he doesn't.

Here's a bold prediction. Kirby Smart will be on a hotter seat than Butch Jones coming out of the season.

If coaching chatter it's affecting his decision he should just wait for the season to play out and then make his final decision.

I agree. I think UGA disappoints this year and losses 4-5 games. If they go 9-4/8-5 and the recruiting class is subpar (which looks likely) then you'll hear Kirby on the hot seat big time.

Georgia underperformed to preseason expectations more than Tennessee. Only Ole Miss and LSU were worse in SEC vs preseason predictions. Kirby needs 10 wins (9 being fewest) to avoid hot seat next year.

Not to worry. He can always go back to Saban's teet when he fails.

Most ADs have a certain amount of pride and want to build a legacy though. Not sure what we've got in Currie in regards to that, but it's a factor.

If Jones doesn't win at least 8 I could definitely see Currie firing him.

My gosh people, you have to let this go at some point. Football is like life, you have to snap and clear. We have a new season with new players and coaches. Look forward to the season and support our team.

I'm not so sure. When you're in year 5 at a program like Tennessee you shoul be in the position to reload, not rebuild. While I do think this team will win at least 8, anything less than that won't be acceptable IMO. And I do think there would be a decent chance that Currie would make a move.

I'm not anti-Jones, but if prognosticators predict a 3 win season for a team and it wins 3 or 4.........is that a good thing for the coach? The coaching is involved in the coaching, recruiting, etc. and therefore the prognostication. I don't think we are happy to be slated to win less than 8 this year, although I don't disagree with it........on the other hand I'm an optimist looking through orange colored glasses.........13 & 0!!

What should happen has little bearing on what will happen. If Jones wins less than 8 games this fall that should NOT be good enough to keep his job considering his mediocre "body of work" on the field and questionable staffing decisions thus far.

After 5 years, you don't use the word rebuilding at a place like Tennessee. It's time to be one of the premiere programs in college football year in and year out again. If he wins less than 8 this year I don't see how anybody could think he's a championship caliber head coach. For the record, I do think Tennessee will win at least 8. Should be favored in 9 games going into the season IMO.

5 star Kongbo, 5 star KMac, 5 Star Phillips, 5 star Tuttle, DJ jr one of the best Lb's in the SEC, and an improved secondary with Wiggins, Warrior and a much better coach, to go along with JG/Dormady, JJ, stud OL, Kelly and Chandler young and promising receivers, no reason this team can't win the east and go 10-2 or 11-1

My brother lives there now. Getting his Phd. It's not a bad town. He moved to a better area a few months ago. As long as your in town it's not bad, but gets a little rough on the outskirts.
