'18 TN RB Master Teague

5 star Kongbo, 5 star KMac, 5 Star Phillips, 5 star Tuttle, DJ jr one of the best Lb's in the SEC, and an improved secondary with Wiggins, Warrior and a much better coach, to go along with JG/Dormady, JJ, stud OL, Kelly and Chandler young and promising receivers, no reason this team can't win the east and go 10-2 or 11-1

New Qb, new qb, & new QB
9 wins w bama, fl, lsu, ga texh & ga on the schedule is a very good year w a new QB in the sec.

Sure, just saying it isn't impossible. Some first year QBs have won the heisman. Never know what you have until he plays

Just "WOW"

This is a huge rebuilding year. Most prognosticators have us at 7-8 wins.

Nobody on this board wants us to lose any games. Reality says winning only 7 could happen and that would be a disappointment but unless Butch loses control of the team or something else terrible happens he will not be fired for winning less than 8 games.

Go Vols - Win 10 !!

Not a rebuilding year, but it is a transition year. Transitioning to a reliance on a deep talented offensive line in the running game. Transition from a running qb to more of a down field passing attack.
Transition to an attacking defense with better play on the back end from our secondary. If defensive tackles can get and stay healthy we are about to play big boy SEC football in 2017 and for many years to come.
Go Vols

I know its just every year it seems like we start off realistic and as it gets closer optimism builds & suddenly 8-4 9-3 jump to 10-2 11-1 talk. We can hit 10 wins but w bama & lsu on the schedule that leaves little room for error or key injury. 10 reg season wins is a tall order anyway. Add 1st time starting qb & its near impossible. But who knows, I think I remember feeling the same way heading into 98!

UGA has a sophmore that cant hit the broad side of a barn and a freshman. Their OL looks like ours from three years ago, and people are already crowning them Kings of the East. Why can't we win 10+?

Per Hubbs

Outside of Warren’s commitment, the biggest recruiting news this week was Master Teague’s quiet decision to delay his announcement until after the dead period in July. Having spoke to some people on Thursday night, Teague may be in the process of re-evaluating all of his timeline, and sometime in June may be on the docket again.

Initially, Blackman’s star tailback hoped to make a college choice in early June. A June decision means this is likely Tennessee or Georgia. Auburn appears to be fading, and Ohio State wants him to run at camp and he appears to be out off by that idea. Tennessee continues to sell the advantages of staying in-state (focusing on things like his parents’ ability to travel to all games and post-playing career opportunities). Tennessee will be pushing for an opportunity to try and squeeze one final visit from Teague, too. Word is, Teague was leaning Georgia but doesn’t want to be part of a tailback combo with 5-star tailback Zamir White, who is slated to likely pick the Bulldogs on June 27th.

Ah, finally, some relevant analysis!
Thank you.

Sounds like we are sloppy seconds, but I also don't care if it means he commits to us.

For some reason I always hated that saying. Like it's a bad thing. I was sloppy seconds a couple times and still ended up getting what I wanted. 😁😁😁

I have lived in Athens and can not really blame him. You never hear anyone talk about the crime in that little town.

my cousin graduated from UGA and teaches at a school there. She cant wait to leave as this is her last week there. I never knew how bad it was there until she told me and i started paying attention to it.

Shannon Reed committed to us after LSU told him they didn't have room for him.

Still a win for us either way

That hurts the ego a little less since Reid was from Florida. Teague is an instate kid who lives 3 hours from campus. It sucks to think we have to have Georgia land another back, and Ohio St. not offer in order to land this kid.

The OSU thing is arguable since apparently he's not thrilled about having to go and run for them to get an offer.

The UGA thing doesn't bother me. Teague is playing things close to the vest, so once he shuts it down all we'll hear is that he knew X school was the place for him deep down all along.

Reid, on the other hand, gave an interview a few days before he committed saying LSU was his leader and if they wouldn't take his commitment in December he was going to Knoxville.

If we're talking purely from a pride standpoint, the latter looks/feels worse IMO. Both outcomes are positive for us anyway though.

From all appearances, and by what is being speculated by Hubbs and volatil, the two situations look extremely similar. The only difference being that Reid stated his preference publicly and Teague seems to be letting the media infer and report what seems to be the popular opinion as it relates to his recruitment. Thrilled with OSU's tactics or not, it still seems like there would be cause for concern if they pulled the trigger on an offer.

I'm just saying that it hurts more to be 2nd, or perhaps even 3rd choice as the instate school. To me, that looks/feels worse. In the end, I don't care so long as we land him, but to compare the Reid situation with Teague's, I can personally tolerate Reid's more given he was from Florida and choosing between two distant out of state schools.
