'18 TN RB Master Teague

You wanna buikd it or want it already built. Where will your legacy be remembered longer OSU or UT? He'd be remembered here and in 15 years he probably wouldn't be recognized by a OSU fan. But hey, what do I know.

Do you also say the same about every out of state recruit thst the Vols land?

I don't think he's a troll, but it's always possible he's just not as close to the family as he thinks or has portrayed himself.

I mean, for a family that has kept it all so close to the vest throughout this whole process, I have a hard time seeing their closest friends posting their inside thoughts on recruiting on the internet and then being cool with it.

All speculation, of course though.
One of MT's best friends grew up in our old neighborhood. He is at our house all of the time. He had no clue what the decision was or he put up a great poker face. That kid and his family didn't tell anyone anything.

Kid did say not long ago that if OSU offers he believes it's over. Said he could just tell he loved it by the way he talked about his trip.

I just can't believe people don't see an upward trend at UT. We were far less than mediocre from about '08 until year before last, and two 9 win seasons are a big step up from all that. Yes, Jones $&@! The bed vs. SCAR and Vandy. Reminded me a lot of "Clemsoning," only they don't call It that anymore after last year. When you have a rebuilding job to do there are going to be hiccups along the way, and Jones's rebuilding job has been a much taller task than anything Dabo had to do.

People need to get behind Jones. I'm not saying people should act like blind sheep and not question anything the man does, the s&c was a pretty bone headed move. I'm saying the media, UT "fans," and others in the state need to quit acting like he's the worst coach in the SEC. Nobody in the league has had to face the kind of rebuilding job Jones took on.

Players saw us choke versus Oklahoma and Florida the year before. So it looks like Jones can't win a big game. Then to lose to SCAR and Vandy just hammered home a mediocre thought process. Plus we don't drop 50-60 points on small teams. Struggling with Appy State wasn't a good look. P5 powerhouse schools SMASH little teams. Why don't we? In a prospect's mind the reason is Jones. They've seen the high rated classes so they look at it like he doesn't know what to do with talent. And again I ask the question, can you legitimately argue with them at this point? Other schools 5 stars dominate and early our guys are "meh" at best.

It's an upward trend from historic s***tiness. No one is arguing against that.

But it's not clear whether we're trending up from being a 8-4, 2nd/3rd place in our division team or not yet.

People won't accept the fact is we have not taken a step forward on the field over the last couple of years. We aren't playing more dominant football. We looked better in 2015 than in 2016 and that was before the injuries. If that's the case then how are we trending?

I'm curious as to why you all think he can't compete with the Buckeyes other two RB commits?

Take the stars off and cut the film. I'd take Teague over the other two. He gets downhill in a hurry and he's extremely fast. You can see his acceleration immediately on film. There's a reason he got that offer(first time watching any of their film tonight).

I don't know man, we beat Tennessee Tech by 55 and scored 63 on Missouri, you can't cherry pick the Appy game and ignore the others. I don't think the offense was a problem last year but the defense was atrocious. It's odd we've struggled to get running backs this year so far though.

Two in how many years? Only team we smashed were horrid teams. We haven't dominated a "good" not elite but just "good" team yet. And the talent is there. Maybe Va.Tech and the prospects aren't high on that win either.

I don't have to argue that UT is on an upward trend, the numbers 5-7, 5-7, 5-7, 7-6, 9-4, 9-4 make the argument for me. Put it in a line plot, bar graph, or whatever and you'll see.

Yes, we've choked a way couple big games the last 2 years but again, have you never heard of Clemsoning? There were hiccups along the way for Dabo and there have been for Jones, the only difference is Jones started out in a deeper hole and in a tougher conference.

So now the argument is that Jones sucks because we don't hang enough points on little teams, huh? Well, I hate to bring up Clemson again, but they are the reigning champs... 30-24 vs Troy, 24-17 vs NC State in OT. Ohio State vs. Northern Illinois 20-13 in 2015. It happens.

As for not knowing what to do with talent... How about having 6 kids drafted this year from his first 2 recruiting cycles? BTW, those 6 were the first from UT since 2014 and the most since 2010 (also 6).

A program record-breaking QB and a program-record breaking DE are not just meh, but that's like my opinion I guess.

Again, my point isn't that people shouldn't question Jones or turn a blind eye to all the negatives (as I said, it sounds like the s&c issue was a total brain fart on Jones's part), but that the media and UT's own "fans" need to quit acting like he's the worst coach in the SEC.

And yes, I think I could legitimately argue with a prospect on most all these points.

Not that I disagree with you about the perception of Jones, and how it is being used against him in recruiting, but you appear to be continuously moving the goalposts in this discussion.

Go play Rutgers NIU WMU Indiana Army Bowling Green Maryland Illinois Iowa UNLV Hawaii Northwestern and even Michigan State now sucks. Go play those teams and we would all have a nice record and be in the playoff. Those are teams on their schedule in '15,'16 and '17. Must be nice.

RTTT I guess teams like UTC, UTM, UMASS, IND ST, S. MISS are juggernauts come on man everyone plays cupcake games. Hell the SECE is a walking cupcake. Right now the SEC is kinda avg as a whole if you ask me.

Not consistently owning half of any particular weekly AP top 10 is average now?

I think you meant to say, "The SEC is kinda just really, really good as a whole right now instead of freaking ridiculous like it was two years ago, and the 10 previous years."

There are a couple levels in between the best conference that college football has ever seen (the SEC from 2006 to 2015), and average.

Breakerboy the scourned or hurt will always say negative things about someone who has hurt them. This kid is very talented. He works hard, and will compete for pt. Ppl around here need to grow up and be adults of class. Who cares what Blaze said, or where he went. I applaud the ppl who say wish him well. If he had committed to UT he'd have been the best rb in America. He didn't so now he'll be a bench warmer, won't get over 100 carries, he and his parents are this or that. Kid has pro intangibles, works relentlessly and will likely be a player for tOSU just as he would've been here.

Didn't you hear BB? None of those count. The only ones that count are the ones you aren't dominate...did I do that right?

Idk that I'd call any of the big ten teams we beat in bowl games good either though. NU had a decent defense, but that's it.

If you're trying to engage and be consistent with his logic, those teams don't count either lol

Chris come on and be realistic the SECE is really avg from top to bottom. The SECW top heavy then avg. top 3 in the East? Fla, UT, UGA? I don't think anyone fears those 3. SECW Alabama, LSU then the rest are equal to the SECE. People stop looking at the past. This is 2017 the SEC is living off of 1 school right now. Playing in the MCB and dominating a bad Nebraska team is cool but doesn't get you brownie points. I more than anyone want to see UT win and win the old way of the 90s but we're not there and hv to stop criticizing other conferences until we can win ours and dominate ours. We still dominate the draft as a conference but over all the SEC brand is down and if you keep it real you'll admit that.
