'18 TN RB Master Teague

I bet it really chaps the barbers butt that Litaker and Emrrson are high on the Vols.

Guess what it doesn't because those kids are close to me and I've talked UT to them. I've taken Litaker to UT. I've talked to Jordan Davis about UT. So try again because you're lil jerk comments aren't funny or true. I can't help you and many other can't understand that all instate kids don't want to or won't go to UT and can be elite where ever they go.

Chris come on and be realistic the SECE is really avg from top to bottom. The SECW top heavy then avg. top 3 in the East? Fla, UT, UGA? I don't think anyone fears those 3. SECW Alabama, LSU then the rest are equal to the SECE. People stop looking at the past. This is 2017 the SEC is living off of 1 school right now. Playing in the MCB and dominating a bad Nebraska team is cool but doesn't get you brownie points. I more than anyone want to see UT win and win the old way of the 90s but we're not there and hv to stop criticizing other conferences until we can win ours and dominate ours. We still dominate the draft as a conference but over all the SEC brand is down and if you keep it real you'll admit that.

How high up was it? It being down is relative to how high it was. Let me keep it simple. Everyone plays cupcakes so why bring it into the discussion. Do you sincerely think the Big 10 is better than the SEC right now? Players drafted and rankings show differently even if last year the league was not on as high a perch last year, it was still higher than that weak sauce conference.

You guys are more butthurt over this one than I thought you would be. Is it because of how much he valued an Ohio State offer versus a Tennessee offer? His stated values might not have added up, but I never read any disrespect from him.
The 4.31 seems off, but I think he is a solid four star level back and would have produced for us.

Blaze's stated values.

I don't know who's butthurt but I do think if Teague were an out of state recruit he wouldn't have been anywhere near the top of the RB board.

But it's also natural for feelings to happen when a kid chooses an OOS school, especially after talking god this and god that and then chooses Urban Meyer over the Vols. No way God would send a kid to that ahole. JMO

The truth seems to be more like the kid REAAAALLLYYY wanted to go to OSU and as soon as he received the offer it was over. Everything else was just smoke and mirrors.

Good luck to him.

That sentence in bold sums it up. Dixon and Grant right now are just a s good if not better backs and I bet the RB board up in the coaches office reflects that. We are recruiting Volunteers to give their all and you don't have to have play for a TN high school to do that.

What about all the 16 and 17-year-old recruits that are committed to UT currently or the ones that would love to be Vols? Do they count too or just the one off kids who decide to go out of state and play for Urban Meyer?

This right here I believe sums it up. MT really wants to play for OSU, I bet he is still riding up in the clouds with the offer and probably committed on the spot once he gets the offer. There is a longggggggg ways to go til NSD and the Buckeyes have two elite guys committed that they aren't going to be willing to lose. Wait til more spots are getting filled, numbers are tight and they have a guy wanting in that's at a position of need. I hate to say it but being the third running back on the list will not be a good position to be in at that point. If he get's slow played will the want to play at OSU still be strong enough to push out everything else?

Tennessee has always been on the outside looking in for him. Don't know why people are so upset we didn't get him. Ay least, he did not go to Florida or Alabama.

People won't accept the fact is we have not taken a step forward on the field over the last couple of years. We aren't playing more dominant football. We looked better in 2015 than in 2016 and that was before the injuries. If that's the case then how are we trending?

The stock markets are at or near all time highs but it hasn't been one continuous climb to the top. There are bumps and set backs that cause plateaus and dips. Butch has us trending up, now we just have to see if he can get us off the plateau and back into a climb.

Also, Volatil, I was gonna head over to MT's house and hide in the bushes and sing Rocky Top over and over until he flips. You wanna come?

I mean it's not like we have 3 of the top 50 recruits committed to UT (according to some recruiting sites) right now...

Agenda Ron. Your facts don't fit it. I don't think there is a single sunshine pumper that hasn't admitted that we have had grow g pains with Butch. We just also see how the team and culture have dramatically improved under Butch as well. As the talent level improves, there are gonna be more kids that leave the state the we will have wanted at UT. Just have to get used to the fact that the big schools are coming after UT kids now.

I agree. Big 10 is a joke. Example this year is Wisconsin will be preseason Top 10 and only "tough" game is Michigan at home. They will sit back and beat scrub team after scrub team and have a good chance of finding a place in the playoff as other teams will battle top teams and lose close ones. That is an absolute joke in my opinion. It happens year after year and is not fair to the SEC teams who face beasts week in and week out...

He has the right to choose the school he desires. I have zero problem with that. I'm just glad a lot of the truly great Tennessee High School players come to UT. I probably caught him playing a few games in his high school career but nothing really ever stood out as far as comparing him to a lot of other Tennessee running backs. Good luck to him.

Exactly. Look at the state of Georgia as a perfect example...UGA can't sign them all and that state is FULL of Power 5 talent. So when UGA "misses" on kids every year to Clemson, UF, Bama, Auburn, UT and others it's normal. Well, news flash folks, the state of Tennessee is starting to produce A LOT more Power 5 talent than in years past. And a big reason for that is that Nashville has attracted so many corporations to set up shop which brings in families from out of state. Those families didn't grow up bleeding orange. I could write a lot more but you get the idea...

There are about 25 kids in the '18 class who live in the state of TN and will play CFB for a Power 5 school. UT can't sign them all but they will sign around ~12. Nashville is turning into Atlanta, this is a great thing for UT football. But as Glitch said, we have to get used to other big time programs coming after TN kids. That's the new reality.

I don't think the arguments on this thread is about Teague. It's about this nonsensical false narrative you use to touch yourself at night.

You boast about uga being on a different level for recruits but when we beat them at their house, it's discounted.

You harp on drafts yet we just had 6 in Butchs FIRST class and that class was the transition into the new coach so it's not even the full, have a year, type of class. But now, suddenly, that doesn't matter because it doesn't fit your narrative.

You act like Ut doesn't have any pros and name Gurley as a celebrity.

The funny thing to me is that you actually get on this pedestal about being all knowing yet have those two faced arguments all the time.

You point out all these things against UT but if OSU and UT got switched in circumstance you'd say "well UT couldn't score a point in the playoff and had a slaw schedule. Well Ut doesn't produce RBs in the NFL. Other positions don't count. Well OSU has Peyton Manning, who everyone knows, and UT doesn't have anyone close to his pedigree. National championship is the past. Clemson and Bama are most recent."

That's you. That's the dude you are. That's the dude that people have a problem with. Every program has it's flaws but you act like UT is the only one with them. I'm not mad. I am sad for you, though.

Big question mark? Disappointment last year? Sure. But improving wins the first 3 years is a question mark?

You are right, some of our fans don't get it.

I'm curious as to why you all think he can't compete with the Buckeyes other two RB commits?

Take the stars off and cut the film. I'd take Teague over the other two. He gets downhill in a hurry and he's extremely fast. You can see his acceleration immediately on film. There's a reason he got that offer(first time watching any of their film tonight).

Big time offers, huge stats against solid competition, elite measureables.

He's a Vol and everyone is ripping the services about his rating.

I'm not trying to say the SEC currently is the SEC of the late 2000s or early 20-teens. But it certainly isn't an average conference either. That's a ridiculous statement. You are putting words in my mouth in your response whereas I'm using your words verbatim. And you're using the otherworldly standard that the SEC of that time period set.

Those kids are obviously a bunch of dumbasses. I mean what kid with half a brain would want to play for the Big Orange?

Of course they do.. Didn't mean ALL recruits.. My bad.. Was mainly referring to some in relation to the somewhat (naturally) skewed view of many in the fanbase..

Why?

Were his other finalist UNC, Kentucky, and Iowa?

Just the vibe from how hard our staff pursued him. Remember when he was "slow played" early this year? This is JMO, but I think the staff turned up the heat somewhat due to where he lives.
