'19 CA QB JT Daniels (Georgia commit)

That's my point though. It's not his fault. He wasn't great, but there's plenty of blame to go around. Despite all the mistakes everyone made, the defense had chance to win the game with a relatively simple play to defend, and they failed miserably. That's what it comes down to in my mind. Now, with that being said JG had a chance to win it in overtime as well, and didn't do it, so that certainly falls on him and the defense as well.

My take is the defense had won the game inspite of JG until the AT screw up.

I'm not even saying you are wrong. But BYU had like 17 seconds left to tie the game from inside their 10. At that point the offense had done their job. Without the blown coverage on a prevent defense and a easy missed tackle, that game is over. Defense played well, offensive line blocked well, but they also failed to convert a 4 and 1 on BYU's 19 yard line (in retrospect we should have kicked the field goal). Chandler and gray played well, but Chandler also fumbled one. I thought this was Chaney's worst game all year as well. We were far to predictable and conservative, and he didn't help any confidence issues JG had by calling 20 straight run plays.

JG certainly should take some blame for the game, but it certainly wasn't all his fault, or even mostly his fault.

Chaney spent the second half trying to figure out how to not let his QB (the most important player on the field) lose a game they had under control for 2 quarters. UTs only shot at winning that game after the pick was exactly what Chaney did.
Had the defense not busted a coverage (which was a terrible play) UT wins the game and still has a QB problem. It just happens to be the same problem they still have today. A QB that can have a great series, score a TD, then proceed to look like hes never played the position for half.

So your first comment doesnt make sense.

Say what you will about the pass but throw that same ball 99 more times Jauan Jennings catches everyone of them. That was a TD turned in to and INT in the end zone. Pass could have been better but JJ could have caught it also.

Uh, can we just say JG does not give anyone hope, based on the past, that he will help us win games instead of be a liability??????

I dont expect him to be an elite QB that you consistently lean on to win.

He can play well enough to not be a liability every other half. I hope hes able to do that much if hes the guy.

At that point we had 16 points after scoring 13 in the first. Imo that is not getting the job done . Just to make sure I wasn’t completely misremembering this game and how it unfolded I googled JG vs BYU report card. Just about every blog, publication gave him an F for that particular game and the RB’s and WR’s never had anything below a B.

We also can’t get to where we want to be just hoping our guy isn’t a liability. Here’s hoping the competition in the qb room either makes him better or someone emerges who can be a playmaker.

I swear I don't know what is wrong with my phone. Everytime I select the JT thread I get the JG thread?... it's almost like when you were a kid and you picked the dirt bike for your birthday but your mom got you the Lego set instead. You can play with the legos but you still dream about the dirt bike!

Is there any timeline on this thing happening or not?

For some reason I thought it was supposed to be later this month that the NCAA was going to vote on whether to allow the 1 time transfer. I had the 20th in my mind but that’s right around the corner and no one is talking about so maybe not.
