'19 CA QB JT Daniels (Georgia commit)

Bow to the consensus or face consequences? That’s not who we hired. Even when there was doubt that he could outmaneuver other coaches in-game, many (including me) admired that he didn’t toe any lines from the blowhards. Doubt he changes and I’m glad.
Agree

No idea how good this kid really is, but I'm sure being coached by Clay Helton hasn't helped.

I think we have to trust Pruitt no matter the direction. His priority is winning games and will put us in the best situation to do so. I think JG has come a long way and I think competition from any level will be good for him.

Come a long way ? Did you miss the Indiana game?

What’s sad is I literally posted this to draw a response from you. Never change, Bruin.

Your trolling worked lol.

In all seriousness I think a second year with a great OC puts JG in a place to win 9 games. I think he’s endured an enormous amount of criticism, some brought on by his actions and some by his poor play, and I would love nothing more than to see him be successful. Even if he wins 9 games many here would still complain with every poor throw.

I certainly think he has all the ingredients and all the tools. He has to “get it” between the ears though, as has been said ad nauseam. Hell I could throw a better spiral than the Iceman, but he was a winner because he had it where it mattered most - head & heart. I do hope you’re right, and if there’s anyone outside of Cutcliffe who can help JG it is Chaney.

He’s a true front runner. Really needs to get off to a good start and that keeps his confidence high. It’s possible he does that. Not sure I’d bet on it but I trust Pruitt to decide that

If JG learns how to throw a VERY basic screen pass we may win 9 games.

Confidence and what he has between the ears are not his only problems. He is simply not an accurate passer.

It would benefit UT for JG to be a really good QB. I'm sure both Chaney and Pruitt hoped, probably even thought he was going to be a steady hand last year. It was logical that he would be the guy based on the roster.
Reality is they pulled him 4 games in because they had no other option but to try something they wernt comfortable with and the doubts started as early BYU. Those same doubts were revisited again against Vandy and IU at the end of the season.

I dont know if JG can take the next step. To date there is no consistency from him outside being inconsistent. UT needs better play at QB. He may get the nod again but hopefully hes running out of second chances. In other words, if cant get it done they should have more options to move on this time.

This is stupid.

Signed,
Joe Burrow
Justin Fields
Baker Mayfield
Kyler Murray

Sure there are great success stories. I’d be curious to see the hit/miss rate of transfers. Wonder if it’s higher, lower and the same as regular HS guys.

I’m assuming it’s higher but I bet not by as much as one might think
