19 students, 3 adults dead in Texas elementary shooting.

I really like the way Gov Abbott is stepping up with these services and providing poise and leadership at a difficult time.

Of course not. Jesus
I don’t understand the thinking on how to prevent school shootings from your side. Teachers have never been armed, ex military personnel has never been used. All your side can do is talk about “what if” to argue the point. Instead your “solutions” are more gun control when the places being shot up are gun free zones. Y’all want to do nothing because something in your head is telling you the gun free policy is working? I understand that being a democrat is only possible with a lack of common sense but for the love of god I wish you all would wake up! This is the very definition of insanity to keep trying the same things expecting different results. At this point you all have to ask yourselves “what do we have to lose?” because y’all’s way is not freaking working! And meanwhile more kids are dying with your “experimental” bs. The experiment is over. More guns = less crime no matter where you look. The faster democrats recognize that, the safer we all will be

I wonder what you think about my brother's shotgun with a 20 round magazine? He can blow cars in half with that thing while the AR-15 guys are shooting BB's.
They focus on the AR-15 and variants because they look scary and are used in these mass shootings. There is more public support for restrictions or a ban on those, and lots of people think AR-15s are functionally different or more dangerous somehow than shotguns or Granpappy's hunting rifle.

Personally I'm surprised gun grabbers don't focus more on handguns since they are very easily concealed and, of course, can be just as deadly as AR-15s or other rifles.

Handguns are the most commonly used firearms in mass shootings.
It doesn't say what they are including as a mass shooting. I'm talking more about spree shootings, such as what we are seeing in schools. They are obviously including many incidents which wouldn't fit.

Rifle Type Used in Orlando Massacre Has Bloody Pedigree

Where AR-15-style rifles fit in America's tragic history of mass shootings

The point is, that these assault rifles are frequently used in these types of attacks. Damn near every single high profile shooting spree over the last 15 years involved an AR-15.

They will. They just gotta get the low hanging fruit first. Let me tell you how this goes. They ban AR15s and then see it has no effect. So they then start concentrating on all semi automatic weapons. Once those are banned, they see the next problem is knives. So they ban them. So on and so forth until the people have nothing. It’s a big game played one piece at a time.

They dont have a clue, the just focus on AR 15 because thats what the media squawks everytime something happens.

I think there is a fair amount of either incompetence or protocol ignorance in this case that’s safe to say

I lean towards this. I’ve had doctors that were great and ones that sucked. They all went to medical school, doesn’t matter, some people execute and some don’t. And if you spend your life not pushing yourself to execute, you generally can’t just turn it on in one magical moment.

Just imo, but I think its one of those everyone is big and bag until they actually have to do it things. Sure ill do x,y,z I have no problem facing down a shooter to try and save lives, I can do whatever, but when the moment comes its too big and they freeze.

No. The AR15 is NOT the common denominator you’re trying so desperately to insinuate. The common denominator is they all involved a freaking psycho.

It's what @1vol8 said - ARs are the low hanging fruit. Mass shooters don't use them because they are more dangerous than any other gun - they use them because they are popular. These mass shootings could just as easily be done with handguns, shotguns, or other rifles.

I'm not going to argue semantics with you. The stats are what they are.

Where did Hog specifically say spree shootings as defined by BB? So, once again, he was not "dead wrong" as you proclaimed.

You can get stats to say whatever you want. Can you name a high profile school shooting that didn't involve an AR-15? If you can, I guarantee that I can find more that did.

Possibly. Even though I’m not a LEO if I saw a child in mortal danger and had a chance to act and shield them I’d like to think I would spring to take action. To your point until in that situation you just don’t know.

A long time ago when I was a kid I got my father to briefly talk about combat he only did it a few times with me he simply had no desire to think back to it. He was a WWII vet. The gist of the talk was…

You have absolutely no idea how you or the guy next to you will respond until you come under fire. Train all you want. But until it is really life or death your brain will parse the difference.

Yes, they are. Pretty much every one of these high profile incidents involved one.
Go check out Virginia Tech from 09. The Santa Fe TX school shooter used a 12 guage. Columbine wasnt. Boston marathon wasnt. Oklahoma City wasnt. The Charleston church shooting wasnt. I could keep going but I think you get the point. The media wants you to think its the AR but its really not.
