19 students, 3 adults dead in Texas elementary shooting.

I'm not an anti-gunner. I'm an anti-shooting children-er.

At this point, the only solution is to make entering our schools something similar to entering the Pentagon. If you don't have any business being there ... then you ain't gettin' in. If you have business being there, but are not authorized to be carrying a gun ... then your gun ain't gettin' in.

It goes without saying that this will be an enormously expensive undertaking.... but our government has wasted enormous amounts of money on far less important matters.

And I hate to say it, but you will always have losers like Charles Roberts, who shot up an Amish school in 2006. Why did he choose an Amish school, you ask? Because he knew that there wouldn't be any guns on the premises to stop him, and he also knew that there wouldn't be any phones on the premises to call for help. This gave him extra time to do what he really wanted to do the most - sexually abuse the young girls who were in the school, before shooting those girls in the face.

The sickos will find a way to perform their evil. That's just how it is.

The problem here is that this solution doesn't filter out school shooters that actually go to said school. And even if you lock up a school like Fort Knox I think a motivated individual can find a way I'm regardless. Not trying to **** on your suggestions and I think in this particular latest incident, there was an alarming lack of security for that school. But unfortunately I can still see this **** happening even with those precautions.

Sounds Fuqed up but like I said, the possibility is there. Politicians fix elections . They even tamper with the elections of other world leaders. You don’t think they have the reach to tell a department to stand down?
You think when the Chief of Police was informed of the situation he said to himself, "wait I better see what x politician wants me to do"

Absolutely crazy.

I could see the psy ops to get to the juvenile. One person can surely be manipulated.

A group of adults? That gets a lot tougher. This is their community, their friends, neighbors, etc. In a very homogeneous town (90% Hispanic). You’re gonna have an operation that convinced them to go along with the slaughter of children?
Chain of command. Only one gives the order to stand down. Which means they only had to convince the sheriffs and police chiefs of that area. So as sad as it is to say, they only had two people to talk to

It’s not that hard believe it or not. And the more I think about how many cops were there, the more I think it’s possible and even likely that they were told to stand down.

I'm not surprised, thats probably the dumbest thing I've read in a long time.
It’s obvious You nor Hogg understand the inner workings of a department. I’m sure a few military vets on here can tell you both that if an order was given you don’t break chain of command

Oh, they were told to stand down alright - by the Chief of Police. Dont make this political. Its not.

IDK maybe this guy?
Re read what I said. I said you don’t understand the inner workings of a DEPARTMENT. Police departments are para military. Which means they run the same way. Like I said, you don’t understand. You just jump to conclusions

You don't have to put on a uniform to know **** about the military. Not defending the poster you were responding to, but I grew up on Navy bases. I was raised in the culture. The fact I never wore the uniform doesn't mean "I don't know ****" about the military.

And do you know enough to know how serious they take a break in the chain of command?

I think that is open for discussion.

But you do not view the Rights as equal?
Close. I'm not for denying anyone the right to keep and bear arms except in certain circumstances, and I'm not for denying anyone the right to vote under any circumstance other than currently serving a sentence.
