19 students, 3 adults dead in Texas elementary shooting.

As demonstrated just a few days ago, right Ted?

It amazes me that we have Senators and a former President attending this NRA convention, not because of the latest school shooting, but because Wayne LaPierre is still the CEO. They are aligning themselves with a very corrupt individual, who has wasted money and misappropriated funds for personal financial gain. And yet, there the Republicans are, lining up to have their picture taken with LaPierre. It's disgusting.

Just like the current occupant of the WH.

Close, but not equal?
I would restrict the right of an 18 year old to purchase a gun who has threatened to use it in a destructive way.
I would not restrict the right of an 18 year old to vote who has threatened to intentionally vote for the worst candidate.

Close - but not equal in all ways.

Hmm. Close, but not Equal. Ok

That just seems off to me.

I'm sure that's what you meant.
It is. You see, if you haven’t figured this out yet, I don’t hide. If I want a “Waffle House brawl” I’ll say I want a Waffle House brawl. Im 44 dude. I’ve grown up. But I’m no push over either. How I am here is exactly how I am in real life on the same subjects. But I suspect you can have a much more mature conversation in face to face encounters when there is nothing but air and opportunity between us. I truly believe you don’t talk to people that way in real life. So if you’re ever in central Florida, let’s get a coffee.

I think that is open for discussion.

But you do not view the Rights as equal?
The rights are equal in an ideological sense. They are both important to protect. That isn’t the right question, though. The right question is which one carries more, tangible responsibility? That question seems rhetorical, given the context of this thread (and many like it before).

I can feel this in my bones. While, as an individual, my right to vote is sacred, it does not carry the same responsibility as my gun ownership. If my right to vote is used irresponsibly, the result is real-world inconsequential compared to irresponsibility with my firearms.

I understand the sentiment.

I hope you understand that many will fiercely disagree with you on which carries more responsibility.

All you have to do is go back to before our last election and read about how much more weight our vote carried then when Trump was POTUS . It’s almost like standing on sand and feeling it shift with the tide .

The suspect’s vehicle crashes into a ditch near the school.

A teacher runs to room 123 to retrieve a phone and the same teacher returns to the same exit door, which remains open.

Two males from a funeral home across the street heard the crash and went to the scene. There they saw a man with a gun exit the passenger side with a backpack. Ramos shot at but didn’t hit them. Both males returned to the funeral home.

That’s a symptom of many of our problems as a country. Way too many people feel like you and fail to realize that your right to vote carries the most responsibility you have. Electing the wrong person can lead to thousands of more deaths than any individual owning a firearm.

The suspect reaches the last row of vehicles in the school parking lot. The suspect begins shooting at the school as patrol vehi-cles arrive at the funeral home. The suspect is hiding behind a vehicle.

A school resource officer who was off-site and heard the initial 911 call drove to the area. The officer arrived soon after hearing about the incident but mistakenly thought a different person was the gunman and bypassed Ramos, who was then in the school parking lot, intermittently shoot-ing.

The suspect continues shooting at the school from between vehicles in the school parking lot. A police patrol vehicle arrives at the funeral home across the street..
