'19 TN CB Woodi Washington

It sure does sound like it, the way you said it. I'm not attacking the kid. If he doesn't think he needs to do anything for the Vols, that he is too good to stoop to doung that for a commitable UT offer, then that is his prerogative. I'm sure there are other talented kids that would, and I really think they will down the road.

If none of this is the case, and he just doesn't care about playing for UT and wants to go somewhere else, then so be it.

Stop attacking this player!

It's the internet isn't a good excuse. People attack a kids character based on rumors then get mad if someone calls them out for it. I question the character of the adults attacking this kid from their anonymous high horse. They shouldn't be mad though. It's the internet. It'll be okay.
:eek:lol::thumbsup:
Saban has earned that right.... A kid turning down Saban is different than Pruitt at this stage. Fans will say it’s the same or we don’t want him if he thinks like that. But there are levels to coaching. Pruitt has to earn his stripes as a head coach

agree with this. but i'll just add...you either have a standard or you don't. and pruitt has been around long enough, and coached enough at a high level to know what it should look like and what you can reasonably expect given a certain behavior, quality, competitive character...or whatever one would like to call it.

from that perspective, it then becomes about what you hold important, and what you deem acceptable. and if that means i'd rather take a kid that may not be "as talented" but displays the qualities i deem important, so be it. the talent will come later, as he "earns" it, as you said.

and i still think he's probably doing just fine on the talent front as well.

Not sure who is more offended, Woodi for being expected to camp, BB because Pruitt doesn't seem to share his opinion of Woodi, or some of the posters on here because Woodi doesn't share their love of UT. All offended probably have some growing up to do, but none of it is a character issue, it's just a growth opportunity.

As for Pruitt, he acts like Saban because he learned from Saban and plans to win like Saban. Probably need to get over being offended by him acting like Saban.

Well said. Though I don't really mind BB sticking up for his guy. I don't think he's offended by Pruitt but doesn't like people on here attacking the kid's character. He probably just makes it worse though.

That tweet was directed at the staff.

it could be to see how he reacts to their coaching because they are on the fence on him mentally.

that's not intended to be a slight but rather a discovery of preference.

See a kid the like. Probably D1. Now, they attack CJP. Just go into Georgia and Bama and instate kids that want to consider the VOLS.

Seems pretty disrespectful to the staff to me.

And while Pruitt is a new head coach, he and the rest of the staff are not new and have tons of success at a high level.

If I am an aspiring young artist and Leonardo da Vinci says "Stop by my place. I'd like to work with you some." I'm going to the man's house.

I know for certain Pruitt doesn't think this way. This is the loser attitude the fan base must shed.

I still don't blame him for sticking up for his guy. I think he's making it worse, but I don't blame him. I would do the same thing. But probably be a little more tactful about it.

His tweet disagrees with Pruitt (I guess we are assuming that?) but isnt disrespectful/inappropriate

i think it has more to do with the trust factor. as in do you trust the coach to follow his way or not?

a coach has a process/standard, he shouldn't deviate from it. i don't think pruitt will. that may turn some kids off, so be it. it won't forever, especially if he does win. and it's not like he's going after scrubs.

a guy that has a vested interest in players and attracting more players in the future, wanting everyone to believe, right or wrong, that it's 'players first' is agenda driven. and not for anyone's benefit but his own. why wouldn't you want a kid camp????? pride? too good for it? you're gonna advise kids NOT to? meh.

so it really depends on how much weight you want to put in any comment here, or anywhere on the interwebz.

and it really only matters to the player and the coach.

so if Woodi has the same attitude as our friend at NPA, then he likely wouldn't cut it here, or bama or ga, anyway from a competition standpoint, but he'll find a place elsewhere to land and be fine. everybody's happy.

if...if....all this is true, then it sounds to me like he'd of been great for the last staff, not so much this one.

yeah. i don't have an issue with taking up for 'his guy' either.

i just don't get the reasoning behind making it out like you're too good for it? what purpose does that serve?

anywho.....moving on i guess.

I know for certain he does. He got it from Saban. I know there is a lot of stuff being talked about as far as the character of the kid but that isn’t Pruitt’s concern. These camps (especially the DB’s) are to see how good your bend is, your growth plates (to see what you can put on, your ankle bend (makes a big difference when cutting especially a T-step you wanna get your whole foot in the ground so you don’t put a lot of pressure on your knee so it doesn’t give way when shifting weight back toward the ball, height , weight, 40 time (will take if it’s a regional lasered time), hand size, arm length, Balance, and then the typical jam, off, man, zone, man match, zone match stuff... and explosiveness...

That is not what that poster was saying. He was saying that Pruitt is not gonna change what he wants because people like Woodi and BB think he hasn't earned the right yet. He just worded it in an odd way. He is saying the same thing you are.

Ohhhhhh ok I didn’t follow it that way

BB has an agenda...it is understandable. But we are Vol fanatics, the only agenda we care about is the Vols. I don't know this kid, he is probably a great kid, but if he thinks he is too good to do what they want, or if he just wants to go somewhere else anyway, that is his prerogative. My prerogative as a Vol fanatic is if you ain't a Vol you ain't nothing to me as a player. I don't like anybody on anyone elses team. I hope they all suck. It has nothing to do with him as a person...he could be a saint for all I know, and I wouldn't care except as a human interest story.

He didn't name a team and we aren't only ones asking people to camp. He might not even be talking about TN. probably is but can't just assume

If Woodi wants to

You all are so dumb with this BS. Comment on what you know and don’t speculate. Agenda based on my end huh? I’m not telling a kid to go anywhere period. My job is to make sure he’s ready. A weakling posting a tweet and a university isn’t close to being implicated in it is hilarious. I don’t think about Tennessee football until the season comes around for real. I have much more important things to worry about.

And an FYI: I don’t even train this kid heavily at all. Stop implicating me in any of his recruiting nonsense you’re kicking. I know the kid that’s it. I live 2 1/2-3 hrs away now... DUMMIES.....
