Not BB, but what I'm getting from it is that he may feel like very confident in his abilities, and may feel slighted that players that he's on par with have not been asked to camp, but yet he has for his own home state university. Kid probably feels like if others can recognize and respect his abilities, then that's who he'll recognize and respect, and if my evaluation is true (I haven't talked with him personally) I honestly can't say that I blame him
It isn’t policy for Bama and now it seems here that DB’s camp. I can get into why but it has a lot more to do with projections and flexibility, growth expectations, bend, IQ, balance... and competing.

I don’t even ask him about camping at any school nor will I. But most kids have this mindset. If you make everyone camp for their offers it would be cool. To ask one to do it and not all to do it would bother me as a player as well. Especially if I’ve been to the big camps and know I’m better/outperforming other guys with legit offers I’d feel disrespected. This has nothing to do with competitiveness at all. Why would you as a prospect NOT A FAN want to prove anything to ANY(not just Tennessee) staff that doesn’t truly believe in you when other elite schools do?

Yep. Well said

Woodi takes plays off and CJP wants to see his measurables and if he's got some dog in him. To CJP, it's an investment. He wants a good return on his investment. So by camping, he's ensuring that the offer is to his liking. If he doesn't camp, CJP got his answer.

BB is never going to acknowledge that about his boy though...he's feeding that entitled ego. I don't blame him though, that's his tit.

You sound like a fan and not in the position of the kid.

I can’t see a side here where the kid is correct in his actions. He’s refusing to camp after being asked, but is camping elsewhere. Pruitt will most likely move on and recruit someone that wants to be at UT. His actions tell me that he’s either not interested in UT, or that when he faces adversity he runs the opposite direction. Either way, it’s a huge red flag concerning his character.

But..but...but he got offers from other elite programs.

I don't care...moving on.

Good Lord, this tread has flown so far off the rails. How the heck does ANYONE on this board now what CJP discussed with Woodi concerning camping? or a spot depending on him camping? or Woodi taking "too many plays off"? This is all absurd.

I saw this kid play a couple times last year. I can't compare him to anyone else except who he was matched up against. He completely shut Trey Knox down at Blackman last year. Completely. Very aggressive against the run, he is not afraid to hit.

The last time he went up to UT was with Knox and Otey. I think the "must camp" theory was more directed at those 2, and not Woodi. Woodi said he "loved" the visit. Knox said it was "good"

Kid is a VOL in the end, and we will all be glad. HE GOOD !!!

WOODI'S QUOTES:

“he just was telling us to just go hard every play, don’t have plays off, and just telling us what we need to work on to get better.

while washington said pruitt made it clear to all three players during tuesday’s visit that he (CJP) “does want us to camp” at tennessee this summer, washington said he’s “not sure” yet whether he will participate in one of the vols’ camps.

Except he's camping at other schools so that tells me he's just not interested in Tennessee.

Reads that way but also could be a situation where it's summer time and he is using this time to go places he can't go during school yr. he can make the drive to Knox easily during the yr.

Hard to get a read here. Lots of assumptions and hard not to assume things but never know without kid himself explaining summer visit schedule not including TN. He wasn't asked that question or it wasn't included in Rivals article for some reason if he did

I think CJP and CTF feel they are in on some really good CB's and are doing their do diligence. Camp or not to camp. That is the question. The easiest thing would be to camp. Do what the coach is asking and show who's the best. If it was a QB, I don't think we would be going through this.

Yeah we are in deep with a lot of CBs. Only so many spots so probably trying to determine their board before accepting commits beyond no brainers

I don't disagree with that theory. I disagree with questioning the kids character over unconfirmed rumors that he doesn't want to camp and his offer is based on camping just to make certain posters feel better if he doesn't sign with us. If he were from a different state I doubt anyone would care about any of this. We don't even know for sure that Pruitt said he has to camp to get a spot. Just that he asked him to camp. There is a Bruin level of interpreting quotes to create a narrative from many posters in this thread right now. Sorry Bru, couldn't resist. haha But trust they will be more offended by that comment than you. :)

Exactly

What am I feeding? I’m in Birmingham dude. Talk facts and stop kicking BS. I just know the kid doesn’t act entitled.

But the fans on this board are entitled I see. I’d camp if Ohio State or Bama asked if I were a prospect. Hard to have a lot of leverage year one with top guys if Saban and Urban don’t REQUIRE you to camp. He’s a good player and Tennessee as a brand has a lot to prove to these young guys man. That’s just the truth. If he camps or not who cares. I’m done with this situation. Kid is a GOOD KID, all that character attacking from posters is RIDICULOUS
