Our recruiting classes have been pathetic. During those same years, we go 5-6, make it to 1 SECCG and win 1 bowl game. Yet, our coaches get raises and we are bringing in average, at best, recruiting classes.

What gives? Hope Mike Hamilton is happy.

Maybe we can get CPF, CBP and CPS to join forces like the Power Rangers and produce a new more powerful Football Coaching, Game Winning, Gator Stompin, Recruiting Robot and we can once again be victorious.:worship:

I think there is legitimate concern for that. With average recruiting classes and one of the worst gameday coaches in the SEC, there's reason to be worried about that.

With a coaching staff that can't develop talent anymore, we have to get the Eric Berry's of the world. I don't see many, if any, of those in this class. Without the ability to develop talent, well, welcome to mediocrity.

So we aren't even going to give the new additions to our coaching staff a chance?

Hmmm did you think perhaps all the negativity surrounding CPF had anything to do with it? Why would a kid want to go to a school where the coach is constantly being second guessed by the fans? I'm be willing to bet at least a few recruits were on this board and got turned off by the overwhelmingly negative attitude towards CPF this year. I certaintly recognize that this isn't a going to be a stellar recruiting class, however I also recognize that there were many factors working against the vols including folks like you.

Considering that the attitude towards Phil is not going to change unless he wins the SEC and makes some BCS games (highly unlikely at present and given post-98 track record), don't you think a guy who really loves UTK, bleeds orange and has all the money he could ever need would just do the honorable thing for the betterment of the program and hang it up?

Fans have a right to criticize the coach if we're getting blown out by two of our biggest rivals. If that affects recruiting, so be it, but that's just more reason to change.

sad when that sort of mediorcre program outdoes a school with our legacy in recruiting. that said, let's see how this translates into points on the field. i'm certainly not ready to concede that clemson will be the better team anytime soon.

I think the New Coaches will be the key to our Sucess. Clawson is lible to take over the whole show if CPF don't stay on his game.

Fellas, I continue to be amazed at how negative we can be. OK, I get it, Alabama (vomit) has a world beater class. Other SEC teams have put it to us, and we are most definitely Clemson's biatch this year. But come on- Tennessee plays in the toughest division of the toughest conference every season, and has done so since CPF started here as Head Coach. Still, he's a winner, and so is Tennessee. Some picked us 4th (most 3rd) in the East last year, and WE WON IT. We beat the living crap out of Georgia, everyone's favorite "this was really the best team in the world in '07 and maybe they should have played in the title game" team, and we gave the National Champion LSU Tigers all they wanted in Atlanta. So, to all my bretheren, sack up, quit whining, appreciate what you have year in and year out, and support our program. I'm disappointed too, but my hatred for Alabama will motivate me to move on.
