2 out of the last 3 years

2002...#2 ranked class
How "great" were these 5* recruits James Banks, Mondre Dickerson, Brandon Jeffries, Jona. Mapu, and Gerald Riggs (1 good year)

2004
Chris Brown 2*, Arian Foster 3*, Ryan Karl, 2*, Anthony Parker, 3*, Antonio Reynolds 3*

They did much more for UT than the "studs" in the 2002 class. Time will tell. Wins and loses are all that matter.

you can cherry pick all you want..how good was Peyton Manning 5*, Jamal Lewis 5*, Robert Meachem 5*, and Rico McCoy 5*?

Felix Jones 3*
Pat White 2*
Steve Slaton 3*
Laurence Maroney 2*
Antonio Pittman 3*
Chase Daniel 3*
Tyrone Prothro 2* CB
DJ Hall 2*
Jacob Hester 3*
Mike Hart 3*
Patrick Willis 2*

How's that for cherry picking??

Fulmer has, IMO, always been a mediocre game coach, at best, but a top-notch recruiter. He has won as many games as he has based on having better talent than the opponents. With poor recruiting that edge will be gone, regretfully. I'm apprehensive about the future with Georgia, Florida and Alabama on the upswing, along with LSU who has been there for a while.

If that's true, maybe this is going to be a lucky break for those who are calling for Fulmer's head.

Go to scout.com and look at the top recruits in the country from 2002-2006 from each position.

Some were, and are, super in college, but a very large % are stiffs. This shows me that *'s don't mean anything! The only thing rival's, espn, scout are good for is posting boards like this.

Conversely look at the top recruiting teams and see that they are almost always in the top 10 or 15 in the rankings. Most teams in the lower tiers seldom reach that level except with weak schedules.
