It is odd to continue bringing in players for OVs if we don’t plan to oversign, at this point, though.Goes to show that some of the recruiting narratives floating around are/were complete garbage.
I still question whether UT will over-sign at all.
I don’t see anyone leaving of their own volition; and I don’t see anyone leaving early.
Only thing I can think of is that I have been hearing a lot of the recruits (springer, Keon) say that Barnes told them how they were going to be guard-oriented in the future, and maybe some bigs don't want to come to a team that's guard-oriented? Maybe? But in all honestly most teams nowadays are guard-oriented so I don't know.I find it hard to believe that we can’t land just one quality big with the playing time available and the elite guards we have to get the ball to them. Hope Evan’s wrong on this one.
3 five star guards if you count JJJ.We need a big man badly. Seems like a no brainer if you want to be the one slamming down wide open dunks. All you have to do is commit to a team with 2 Five star guards and a highly rated small forward. Maybe that just makes too much sense for an 18 year old to understand though...

Anthony Edwards was a home grown, self acclaimed Georgia fan. It was pretty much a given that he would go there. No extra credit for that signing, please.I don't know why people are surprised Tom Crean can recruit. He had success at Indiana for a reason. He also landed Anthony Edwards, one of the Top 5 players this past class, who will probably cause us a lot of trouble this year. I think TN is a better fit for Cardwell, but of course I'm biased. It's still not hard to look and see why Cardwell would want to go there. Crean is going to get some dudes.

You do realize why Lawrence didn't come here, right? Kids want to win, and the difference between Butch Jones and Tom Crean made that an easy decision for Edwards. For Higgins, that was an easy decision as well.Yeah, and Tee Higgins and Trevor Lawrence were HUGE Tennessee fans, with one of them literally living in our backyard. Heck, Trevor Lawrence idolizes Peyton Manning, but we couldn't get him on campus for his 3 years. It doesn't matter if someone grows up in your backyard. You still have to put the leg work in to sign them. And Crean did a good job with that.

Edwards was going there if Peewee Herman was coaching.I understand that but your argument was "No credit for signing homegrown players" when we swing and missed on essentially two homegrown players. Also, Georgia will still be a bad, non-tournament team this year even with Edwards, so I still give Crean some credit for convincing a Top-5 player to forego relevance for a year to play at home. That's all I'm saying, that Crean did a good job.
He is probably the best. He must have inside info. And having elite guards isn't necessarily an advantage. Sometimes that is seen as fewer shots for the bigs. Who knows? Evan Daniels usually gets it right, though.I find it hard to believe that we can’t land just one quality big with the playing time available and the elite guards we have to get the ball to them. At this time last year did you thinknow Burns would be gone? If the staff feels they can upgrade the roster they have shown they are likely to do itGoes to show that some of the recruiting narratives floating around are/were complete garbage.
