2007 Chicago Cubs Thread

We may also see a familiar face soon. If Kerry Wood feels good today after pitching 1.2 innings last night, he may be called up as early as tomorrow. The bullpen is starting to look as strong as advertised at the start of the year.

the injury plagued careers of wood and pryor are a complete tragedy that is only fitting for Cubs Baseball.

would love to see wood back on the mound and have meaningful starts again........go cubbies.

And that's the game folks. Cubs beat Philly 5-4 on a wild pitch to tie Milwaukee up for 1st in the Central!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, we lost today, but so did the Brewers so we are still technically in 1st in the division. Time to switch with the Brewers getting Philly and we get NYM.

For some reason, I think this team just doesn't want to be in first. Nothing seems to be going right. Either the bats are on and the pitching isn't there or vice versa or the bullpen implodes. Looking similar to how they were at the start of the season.

Nothing jinxy about this team. They can't stay consistent. Either extremely hot or dead. Soriano better come back soon because he seems to be the key.

Still 1.5 back in the Central. If any team executed us, it was Houston 2 series ago with the sweep.

Z is a player version of the Cubs this year. He sucked almost the whole first half. Then he got really hot. Now he is back in a rut.

I have the perfect plan for the Cubs to win the central. Just have all of their games from here on out cancelled. With how Milwaukee is playing, the Cubs would be back in first by the start of September.

Ryan Jorgesen(SP) had an avg. of .230 something in AAA. Comes up to the bigs and is contributing to the cubs cause to blow it and not win the central.

i saw Jeff Samardjiza pitch for the Smokies last week. i believe he had 2Ks, 2 runs, and scattered 5 or 6 hits over 6 innings.

i have also heard he is a solid kid and the players seem to like him.

And This One Belongs To The Reds! Really, Cub fans, I'm not laughing with you. I'm laughing at you.

IDK what is wrong with the team. Nobody is playing like they care. The Cubs are acting like they are in the Reds position right now. Instead of challenging the Brewers, they are just laying down to every team. This isn't how I would have figured the race to be 3 weeks ago.

When I think of the Reds I see Marge and her dog, Chris Sabo's goggles, Riverfront Stadium and then the Big Red Machiene.

I would love to go to their new ballpark... I hear it is great.
