2008 Titans

Tebow, but y'all are good enough to where you won't get him when he comes out

Chase Daniel

Tebow won't work in the nfl b/c that power running style will have him on IR before 2 years starting and his throwing style leaves alot to be desired...i've heard alot of people call it a knuckle ball throw.

Doesnt matter though b/c the team wont draft a qb. If this same staff gave mcnair 6 years to develop when the fanbase was hounding them to get someone else and make steve into a FB, what makes you all think they'll go out and draft someone else when the fanbase is hounding them about a qb now?

Titan's aren't going to draft a first or second round QB unless VY quits football altogether. Look for someone later in the draft.

They need to finally address the WR spot in the first round this year. I say from there, if a good QB is available in the 2nd round they draft him. If not, they will pick one up around 4th or 5th round.

After signing Simms...rumor has it that they will go after Major Applewhite "just in case"!

1st round WRs usually fail.

I'd rather they sign Roy Williams from Detroit and take a chance in the later rounds on WRs

Very bizarre tidbit about the new backup QB Chris Simms, who we all know and love

Interesting note about Chris Simms. Simms and Texans' offensive coordinator, Kyle Shanahan became such good friends at the University of Texas that they have their initials tattooed on each other's lower leg. Not that there's anything wrong with that. But can you imagine if Simms had wound up on the Texans roster? "Umm, Matt Schaub. I'm not saying you should worry or anything. But your offensive coordinator has the new backup's initials tattooed on his ankle..."

This came in an email I get from the fantasy football service I use. I can't find a link, but that is very bizarre if true.

he took a team from 0-5 to 8-8, of course they were going to give him rookie of the year that year; that's amazing for any rookie qb to do, especially considering that titans team had the 2nd worst defense in the league and was picked to win no more than 3 games...

also, i think leinart wasnt even in the running for it and Jones-Drew came in second. But this award's for how they perform their rookie year, not how their career is

MJD had 15TD's and over 2000 all purpose yards that year. He had 900 yards rushing, he was the ONLY one that deserved the award.

Meanwhile, Vince Young completed just north of 50% of his passes. He couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, but his team won a lot of games because Travis Henry carried the team on his back.

Thank You:good!:

Not really. Multiple places have him in the Top 15 of the draft next year.
You must mean Brian Brohm, and those sites still haven't realized that he already went pro. I don't know of anyone projecting the current Louisville quarterback in the Top 15 of next year's NFL draft.

They are - I've heard it multiple times now... haven't really seen him play but he's already projected as a great prospect.

The Louisville Cardinals posses perhaps the best quarterback in college football in Brian Brohm. It is almost a sure bet that Brohm will be the first QB taken in the 2008 NFL draft. Fortunately for the Cardinals, they also possess the best back-up quarterback in the NCAA in junior Hunter Cantwell. So high is the stock on Cantwell right now, that some scouts have him as the highest rated quarterback for he 2009 NFL draft.

While he may have to wait until next year to confirm it, Cantwell (6-4, 230 lbs), has the size, mobility and arm strength that NFL scouts dream off. Though his playing time the past few seasons has been limited by the presence of Brohm, Cantwell has played well when he has had the chance. When Louisville's stellar starter went down late in the 2005 season, Hunter stepped in to mop up a game against Syracuse, before starting in the team's final regular season game against Connecticut. In his first start for Louisville, the talented passer threw for 271 yards and a touchdown while leading his team to a 30-20 victory. Later that year, with Brohm still out, he started for the Cardinals in the Gator Bowl. Though his team lost to Virginia Tech, Cantwell was named the game's co-MVP.

Cantwell is a "prototypical" drop back passer but I think he has bust written all over him. Did you see the Kentucky game? He looked pretty awful.

Maybe he will get better but right now his decision making skills are reminiscent of JaMarcus Russell. If I had to compare him to someone it would be Russell.

He threw a lot of balls off the mark vs. Kentucky, i agree.

VY ain't gonna cut it...

Fixed for accuracy.

They may want to rethink things after that 27-2 drubbing by Kentucky, which doesn't exactly have a great defense. Cantwell's performance of 20 for 43 for 152 yards (3.5 yards per attempt) with 0 TD's and 3 INT's doesn't exactly resonate as a great NFL prospect.

Nothing like knowing you have millions wrapped up in a basket case. But it is not hard to believe, guy wears his emotions for the world to see.
