Depth at the point guard position is huge seeing we haven't had a true point in a long while. Now we may have two if Jones makes it in that is. Also Golden may be able to play his true position, he seemed to struggle at times this past season. GBO

I wish there was good video of him matching up against Harrison Barnes in their state tourney last year. That would be interesting to see. I'm sure it's out there to find....

Right, the added depth is huge.... but from what I gathered from the statement with the added "kid is a baller" made it seem like we just landed John Wall Jr.

Sick vertical leap, great athlete but I think if you look at his stats and his team's win/loss record (if you're a great player in h.s. your team wins no matter what) as well as the reviews on the kid, he has upside but alot of things to work on. Plays hard, clearly athletic, but not a great shooter. Also very small in stature. Needs to get in the gym once he gets here. He also sounds like he's 13 haha.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we picked him up because I'm not sure Jones is going to get in so getting this guy this late in the recruiting season is about as good as we could hope for. Nice pickup, but let's not go overboard is all I'm saying. He didn't have many offers from high profile schools.

Mr. Bam,
I disagree that if you are great in HS basketball your team wins no matter what. I remember watching my Uncle coach a team to victory over Shareef Abdur Raheems team. His team had 2 guys who would go on to play D1. Shareef was in the league 2 years later.

His senior class has 3 guys I believe going to D1, he is coming here, the 3 point shooter is headed to Iowa and another kid is going to Wisconsin. That is a ton of talent, but it does not automatically equal victories in high school.

So your uncle won a game against Shareef Abdur Raheem so that automatically disqualifies the theory?

It's one game, dude. What was Raheems' teams overall record and what was your uncle's team's record? That'd be the question.

Anyway, that's neither here nor there. If there are 10 guys on the floor and I have a player who is clearly better than the other 9, my chances of winning are better. Upsets happen. Kemba Walker was the best player on the court and his team just won a national championship. It's not even arguable.

Football is different because you have 22 people on the field affecting the game. In basketball, especially high school basketball, give me 1 great player and 4 decent players and you will win more than you lose.

If I'm not mistaken Washpun's team had a losing record. I know they started off the season winless for awhile before finally winning a game and weren't very good overall. If you put a kid like Wall or Rose (during their high school years) on that team, they may win a state championship. That's the difference.

Off the board coach picks off the board player. Hard to critique. Just have to wait and see. He could be the next Jamal Creighton?

Tennessee is in big trouble if Washpun plays at all early in his career. He could be a solid bench player who provides energy and toughness down the road, but anything more than that is a big time reach at this point.

Washpun is the type of guy a new coach gets at this stage of the game. Martin only gets judged beginning on who he brings in next year.

Yea. There's no reason to criticize the get right now. As vw33 pointed out, the kid has the potential to be a solid bench contributor. Let's hope he can get in on some better guys next year.

Ridiculous if anyone considers a low three star "HUGE".

What is your analysis after watching him play a few games? So many people comment about star ratings but haven't even seen a kid play or understand how kids get rated.
