That is what I have been thinking. But they need to do some changes if they don't get 8 wins, and take the time to find the right coach as well. I hope that won't be the case though.

Didn't know that, I saw someone ask about the starter and everyone saying it changes things so thanks for clearing that up.

Understandable. Hopefully though they wouldn't be under the same time-sensitive situation they were as was the case with Dooley's hire.


And yeah, the story's all over the place regarding what the UF QB actually injured, but as far as the practices it's apparently been more that while he's still said to be one of two competing for the starting spot, the other guy had been performing better and had pretty much pulled away enough that he would have been the starter if game 1 was tomorrow. (of course, even the "competing" part could be one of those silly "you don't know who are we going to start this week" games that coaches like to play nowadays)

Vols go 9-3 with a 10th comin in the bowl season. Losses to Bama, South Carolina, and Georgia finish second in the east and make their way to a nice trip to the cotton bowl for a victory over the longhorns. Imo

I think Ga.'s thin O-line will show it self and we will be their second SEC game and fourth game over all.By then there is a chance they might have some one nicked up or went down.I am hoping USCe will be more likely to stay on the ground and ride Lattimore (sp?)into the ground.
So that is the delusion that I am going into this season with.

This sounds about right to me. If things go our way here or there and we avoid major injuries, then we could place second (or tie for second) in the east and make a really nice bowl game. It is at least as likely as going 6-6 which is possible, but would require us to have sustained some injuries and some bad luck.

The thing about our team now is that we have some talent, depth, and finally some experience, but we don't have a lot of guys who know how to win football games.

That is why the first 3 games are paramount. If we come out strong and gain some confidence, who knows what could happen. If we don't, then it will all be up to how the team responds. The Florida game is pivotal. Win that one and I would say that anything is possible the remainder of the season. Lose and we may be in for another long season.

Don't mistake other programs being down with yours having gotten alot better. You are like the guy in the "Stripes" schtick. Everyone else just took a step back.

Compared with where we were ten years ago, and even with where we were five years ago, we have gotten a lot better. The East has been down, but that has not been the sole contributor to our success. However, you are free to believe what you wish, no matter how ignorant it might be.
