Something to just keep an eye on, but there's A LOT of Josh Pastner to USC talk, and even possibility of being a backup for UCLA. With the embarrassment his team endured from the Spartans and his 4 years of underachieving he may very well look at leaving.

If he were to leave you'd have to wonder what guys like Austin Nichols will do...

I would wonder who they would go after...the program with a right person can be dominate. Make a cheap hire or someone who isnt attractive to local kids and who knows.

Supposedly kuran Iverson isn't going to qualify and that could be something josh looks at also, I don't know.

He's still young. 2013-2014 will be his most talented team. Remember, before Cal got they weren't a top 10 program, just right on the top 25. So it's not like Pastner is underachieving.

Pastner is one of the two worst coaches in college basketball.

I think that he would be dumb to leave Memphis.

There's a short list of SEC failures from recent memory. I'd take Pastner over any of those. I agree though, he is a poor coach and I'm shocked that teams with the resources of USC and UCLA would be banging down his door.

I agree, and I honestly don't think they are beating down his door. His name is being mentioned, to the limited extent that it is, because of his Western ties, age, and probably a healthy dose of his agent putting his name out there

Pastner is not going to USC. It is Snoop Dogg (Lion... whatever's) job to turn down. Word is around the LBC, is he would be funky on the recruiting trail like a whole batch of collard greens.

I would gladly accept losing to Izzo in the NCAA than to Mercer or MTSU on your home court in the NIT. UT doesn't have room for Nichols so why speculate? Pastner isn't going anywhere unless its to Arizona to be an assistant, but if he does leave then maybe we'll hire Bruce Pearl as our next head coach.

Because you hang banners for losing to Izzo in the tournament, right? Who cares? Both teams did nothing this season. And FTR, you didn't lose, you we're embarrased beyond reason.

CJP is a joke. I hope he stays at Memphis so Tiger High doesn't actually get a guy that know's how to coach.

About a recruit that already turned Tennessee down, and committed and signed a LOI somewhere else? Yes, he is embarrassing himself.

I thought UT's colors were orange and white, not green.

Turned down? We were the favorite to land the kid till one of the parents got involved. Still don't understand why he would choose a program that never accomplishes anything and would choose a coach who does not know how to coach. Futhermore why would any team want to go after Pastner? I still think it is hilarious that once they left the weak Conference USA that all the major powerhouses in the Big East left so now the conference looks like Conference USA II. But I hope he likes loosing to Butler,Temple,ND amongst other schools. Good luck on bottom feeding
