Tennessee is definitely in his top 3 choices right now. I have heard it out of his own mouth @ the gym. He always sports the Power T cut off short when he is in there.
Markel Crawford? I'm not sure I'd call him "highly rated". The rest, sure.
Are the words "highly rated" in my post?
Point still remains...add hubbs & Nichols that's 3 HIGHLY rated guys in 3 years that Memphis wanted and CCM would've got.
Add in Crawford and that's just another talented Memphis kids with ties to the Memphis area.

"Thank you hope we can land him. Would be another highly rated player out of memphis that CCM would land. Go get em CCM."
That's what you responded to by saying "4 in 3 years".
Your pre-occupation with the U of M aside, if CCM snags Nichols and Hubbs then he's doing very good work. He's got his work cut out for him.
As for Crawford, if you guys get him I'm sure you'll laud your recruiting victory over Auburn and Kent State from the highest mountaintops.
Well to be fair, your post was in response to a post that did contain the words "highly rated" prospects. I had the same thought as MC when I first read your post, but I just dismissed it. Crawford seems to be picking up steam and this summer could be a real turning point in his recruitment if he shows marked improvement. He could see his offers and ranking increase before his senior season.
I didn't feel the need to correct the poster over whether he's a 4* or a 3*...I guess next time I should.
He's ranked very close to jajaun Johnson who Memphis is drooling over, so for people to point to his rankings doesn't make too much sense.
As you said, he seems to be picking up steam and a good showing in AAU this year and hell probably pick up a few more offers from bigger schools.
As I've been saying, I'll gladly take him. Hes better than some of the guys on the roster IMO, and provides that Memphis connection.
I wouldn't call Jajuan Johnson "highly rated" either.
Interesting how the recruiting in the state of Tennessee is starting to evolve. UT beginning (at least it appears so) to make inroads into the city of Memphis for the first time in years, the U of M all but abanadoning in-city recruiting for a more national approach.

Regardless of his ranking, what he would bring to Tennessee is much needed shot-making ability from the perimeter. If he can improve his all-around game, he can be a contributor.
Not comparing the two in terms of future projections, but Chris Lofton had a similar scouting report coming out of Mason County as Crawford. I would much rather have a guy that can shoot at a high level and teach him to make athletic moves than vice-versa. We have tried and failed miserably recruiting the uber-athletic guys and trying to coach them into basketball players.
