2013 TN PG Darius Thompson

I'd take Noel, Stein, and Goodwin over McCrae any day. Even now. And especially if you compare all their freshmen seasons.

As for NBA projections...haven't seen McRae on any lists. The assumption is that he's coming back, which he should imo.

Stein is garbage.

As you said, McRae plays more than Goodwin, and still averages less TOs a game, so that doesn't really strengthen your position.

Goodwin also plays a lot of PG, so it would stand to reason that he would average more assists than McRae, though the difference in their numbers there is minimal. 1.1/gm to .8/gm.

Check your facts on the blocks. McRae averages almost a block a game (28 on the year), while Goodwin is around .5/gm (15 on the year). As for steals, Tennessee's defensive philosophy isn't predicated on creating TOs. As a team, Tennessee is last in the conference in steals.

McRae also had to play PG this year when Golden was out and/or bad. Obviously he is not a PG. I would be interested to see what his turnovers look like compared to then and when he plays his normal position.

We have no idea what McRae would have done his freshman year if he had played meaningful minutes. Hopson, Harris, and Tatum all played a lot of minutes. Of course UK's freshmen always have the chance to play a lot.

Two games and spot duty in a couple others. Not enough to really gather an accurate opinion, but I'd venture to guess he was a little looser with the ball just because of the increased volume of touches he had from playing PG at those times.

Not much but I certainly remember the first Alabama game. He probably a few turnovers as a PG.

Oh just prancing around like you know what you're talking about. When you don't. At all.

And telling BTO he's wrong when the man knows everything there is to know about high school basketball players.

I admit I follow football a lot more than basketball. From what I've read from BTO,he seems to think he's a take.I was being a little sarcastic about him starting at point next yr.I just don't think Golden is consistent or good at the point.

Hey BTO,I was just being sarcastic about Thompson starting at point next yr dude.I just want to see anybody besides Golden running point pretty much what I was trying to say.BTW I forgot we've got Landry, why are we even going after Thompson if we're full?

Because they're not all that confident in Landry it appears.

As for Thompson starting, you would prefer not to have a 3* freshman PG starting for you in the SEC...especially when you have a senior 3 year starter available.

I think Goodwin is more talented than McRae. If he was given 3 years in college he'd be better than McRae. Right now, it's close. I'd still take Goodwin.

Bwhahaha you're a moron plain and simple, sorry. UK fans love their basketball but so many of them are so clueless its amazing. How you can watch Goodwin all year and McRae all year (you've probably seen him 3 times and form an opinion) and still take Goodwin at this point begs me to question your knowledge of the game. Goodwin and Poythress are in a tight neck race for the biggest head case on that team right now and Calipari's even told him he's uncoachable. Goodwin averages 13-14 a game and gets 8 of that at the FT line. I understand shooting FT is part of the game and its helping the team get points, but I'd take someone who can score anywhere on the floor over a guy getting 2-4 FG a game. McRae is a much better pure shooter and probably a better defender and no doubt a better teammate/team player.

Well if you are being sarcastic then I apologize, I hadn't picked up on it.

I agree with your point. Trae is way too inconsistent at the point guard position for us. But he's still the best option.
