2014 F Kevon Looney

I mainly stick around the football forum but I'm a huge basketvols fan as well, is there a former UT player you could compare Looney's game to? If not, NBA player?

At one time Kevin Durant was being used to compare Looney. But I think his handles and outside jumpshot seperated that comparison somewhat.

Looney is a scorer, defender, and has an awesome motor. Tobias is a pretty good comparison, but I think Looney will be better defensively and will be a beast on the glass.

As for a UT comparison, Marcus Haislip comes to mind. Haislip shot a respectable 37% from 3, and was a decent ball-handler at 6-10. He was also a monster on the boards as a junior, and dunked anything within range. Super athletic with nice touch around the basket.

This JMeyer pick to Duke has GOT to help the Vol cause.....

May come down to who commits first.

Jerry Meyer's Crystal Ball Predictions

I highly doubt Winslow will be committing in the next 3 days, so don't think it helps with looney in that regard. Fwiw Meyer said he thinks Jones, Winslow, Looney and Okafor could/will play together in college.

They have room for 5 if Jabari Parker leaves after this season so they won't have number problems. They could realistically take Winslow, Jones, Okafor, Looney and Reed. That would be crowded at the 4 but it could happen.

If that was to happen it would have a kentucky esque feeling to it. Which would suck

I'm just thinking. If Looney wants playing time, to be one and done, and to put a program on the map why would he go anywhere other than UT? We are the best option for what he's looking for.

If he is truly a one and done how much does he help our program long term considering next year will be a rebuilding year? Would a really good 3 year player not help us more long term?

No we are set with 4 good 4 year players coming in. We need looney to put the icing on the cake

Jerry Meyer believes the Tennessee momentum has ceased. His prediction is that Kevon Looney will give verbal to the Blue Devils Thursday night.

1. Meyer hasn't said either of the 2 things you're claiming he's said.

2. Judging from your past posts you're looking to stir $hit up
