2014 JUCO Center Stephen Hurt

I just wonder if Forbes is against UT? I thought that may be why Chris Jones had no interest in UT, but I've also seen where Forbes said Cuonzo didn't try to get back in with Jones

I would think this would be a guy we would really pursue and like to have. With next years immediate need in the post, bringing in a guy who's physically ready to contribute immediately is key. This might very well become one of the more important recruits of the 2014 class

Rob Lewis on our chances now with Hurt:

Tennessee will have a shot at him just like everyone else if they put in te effort and recruit him. I can tell you 100% for certain that Forbes isn't standing in their way or blocking guys from lookin at Tennessee.

Hurt/Haas/Cofer/Davis is a talented frontcourt. Add Johnson/Hubbs/Richardson/Lyle as your wings and that's a very solid eight man rotation.

The question with Hurt will be his weight. I saw earlier he's lost a ton. Will be hard to keep it off in CC.

Pretty good when our "combo guard that's not a true point guard" decides to give 100% effort.

Martin said he doesn't need a "true" point to run his offense. Personally I think he said that to show faith in what he had. He doesn't make excuses. But it also needs to be noted that when Trae played well, we typically played well. So seems to me that Martin is right.

That said, I want us to get some better point guards in here in the next couple of years. Hope DT works out.

You would describe UTs offense as pretty good?

lol get out

He's gonna be at arguably the best JUCO in the country, with arguable the best coaching staff in the country. He will face better competition and receive better coaching at NWF than he would've at DL IMO.

IMO he's gonna be a monster next year, I think Forbes will have this guy ready for high major play and in the running for JUCO player of the year.

Jordan Johnson.

I'd love this 2014 roster:

PG- Lyle or Johnson
SG- Hubbs/Thompson
SF- Richardson/Q
PF- Davis/Cofer
C- Hurt/Haas

Depending on Hubbs' and Davis' development, that's a NCAA Tourney team.

Gotcha. I get its not likely, but Stokes could also possibly return which would make that team even better then.

don't forget about Moore.

I knew I was forgetting someone.

I've done a few rotations and because of the big 3 on the wings I forget about Moore, he's gonna find minutes though. Hearing what Martin has said he seems to like Moore as a 4 when we go 4 guard, so I'd expect that to really be his niche.

I see...

PG: Barton 30/ Thompson 10
SG: McRae 30/ Hubbs 10
SF: Richardson 25/ Hubbs 15
F: Maymon 20/ Moore 10/ Davis 10
F: Stokes 30/ Maymon 10

I'd be happy with this though i might change the mcrae/hubbs or richardson/hubbs to favor hubbs a bit more. :)

I remember this kid from Murfreesboro Siegel a couple of years ago. Had big body and was a good shooter. I'm sure he and DT know each other pretty well. Maybe he can help recruit him.

Go Vols!!!
