I'm willing to hold back on Serrano for the time being. His record this year was a big improvement over the last year of Raleigh.

And when the renovations to Lindsey Nelson Stadium are completed he will be on the same footing as Tim Corbin from a recruiting standpoint. That's when we should really start to compete with the big boys.

Guys, let's be real. If we aren't competitive by year 5 of Serrano, I don't care to wait around on stadium renovations to start paying dividends.

I hope he wins big next year but it will be with a less talented roster than this year if he does so.

Gators hit a solo and a 2 run homer T1, take a 3-0 lead...not a good start for Miami...

What the heck was that?
Other than that play, Gators look so strong.

Like every other fan, I'm greedy.

But, if the score holds I have no complaints with the season. SEC tourney title, CWS appearance, send FSU home, send Miami home.

Doesn't get a whole lot better

If Vandy will lose once and use fulmer to advance I think you still win it all.

You are beating virginia twice I feel confident

I bet. The games with UM and FSU have been blow outs also.

I think they can beat Virginia.

I just would place my bet on the odds. Odds are completely in Virginia's favor.

99, who do you pitch against uva on friday? I think if you take win your elimination game the pressure falls on the cavs in the final.

I think they throw Logan Shore again.

He pitched his start on Saturday. So, he'll be coming off of 5 days rest.

The other great thing about pounding Miami is that they didn't have to over use any arms in the bullpen.

The odds favor Virginia for obvious reasons.

However, the good news for Florida is that they are in as good a position as they could possibly be in coming out of the loser's bracket.

In addition, as someone said earlier in the thread, the loser's bracket isn't what it used to be.

The days off that are available because of television is way, way different than it used to be. The big deal is having to go out and beat a good team twice. But in the old days, not only was that a problem, but you didn't have time for your pitching to recover and you had to start guys at the end of the bench because that's all that was left.

With the pitching depth Florida has, the issue won't be finding a quality arm to put out there. The only issue is can they beat Virginia back to back days. And obviously, Virginia's pitching staff, including the guy who shut out the Gators the other day, will be rested and ready.

Feels so bad that as a program we have to resort to cheering against Vanderbilt in the finals of the CWS every year. Those roles should be reversed. We've turned into little brother when it comes to baseball. Sad, considering where this program was just 10 years ago.

And Shore only pitched into the 6th on Sat so he should be very strong. Just get a couple of runs early and let your pen take over if they threaten. The Gators with a lead after 5 is almost money in the bank.

Who is this "we" you are discussing. 12 of you 19 posts reference Vandy or Corbin, almost all 19 are negative towards the Tennessee program.

I can't believe you aren't a Vandy fan, you are completely infatuated with them. No one talks about Vandy here as much as you do. If you are a Tennessee fan maybe you should consider switching allegiances to "the Empire out West".

He's got the low post count, but he seems like he cares. His main beef seems to be with Serrano, and I can understand his frustration, although I personally hope Coach is given time to recruit through the new stadium renovation. He is at a disadvantage right now with facilities as compared to other programs in the SEC.

Not to be negative Nancy as well but IMO the facilities have virtually nothing to do with our problems

Baseball is the only sport that I care to post about because there can be meaningful dialogue without being shouted down by the masses. There is a core group of Vol fans that care about baseball and I'm one of them.

Vol66, I know you are pro-Serrano and I respect that completely. I just think we are reaching the point where we have seen enough. He is about to enter year 5 and while there has been some improvement in roster talent I find myself looking at next year's roster and not seeing a team that will crack the NCAA tournament. That is discouraging for what looked like a really good hire 4 years ago.
