2015 Vols to open against UAB at LP Field in Nashville

I like games in Neyland. That's just me. But if it helps with recruiting and mid state exposure, I guess it's OK. If we are doing this, I would have rather had an in state opponent such as MTSU or Memphis to keep the money in the family. (I just hate giving the state of Alabama anything).

Maybe this will remind some of you guys that Tennessee actually has a professional football team! The lack of support the Titans get from East Tennessee is pathetic. You guys chose to root for a divisional rival over the Titans for a decade just because of precious Peyton.

The Tennessee Vols is the only football team that matters in the state of Tennessee period. I bet you are a Heat fan, when you have the Grizzlies in Memphis to support. Tennessee Vol football is Tennessee

Butch and Dave..... I know you read these posts. Please get a home & home with Utah State. I know it's a smallish stadium. But it would be great exposure out here. Please, please, please...... I'd be your tour guide here. Go VOLS!

That is not going to happen...USU?? They would travel to Arizona State & Arizona those would be your best bets

Who could ever be jealous about the titans franchise? I know very few people who give two $#!7$ about them. Didn't care when they were in Houston and don't care now.

The stadium looks nice though, I wonder what percentage of the seats regularly sell.

At first I didn't like it.....would always rather been in Neyland. But it could be cool.....and from the awesome guys we signed from the Nashville area and it continues to be where the best recruits for the state are....I am liking it.

Sorry but the recruiting and 'brand' theories don't fly. Vandy's no threat and we already own the state and have one of the top national brands. This just screws a lot of season ticket holders. IMO something else is behind it. Either a SEC network spectacle game OR some bright idea from the marketing department designed to get an otherwise 'meh' game talked about and maybe even watched nationally or even just a scheme by Nashvegas to cash in on tourism dollars.

Eff this unless they can give a better reason for why and how we benefit. Also, what if we're invited to a premium kick-off game that season?

Neutral sites suck. ADs need to realize what makes college great - the pageantry, the traditions, the stadiums, the river etc. LP is just another pro cite but place matters a lot more in college. Mess it up too much and I might as well stop watching CFB and instead tune into the doldrums = of the NFL.

So BOOO. The AD needs to respect the House the Neyland built -- no stadium is better. BAD MOVE defiling Neyland's house for a pot of gold.

If they can't give a better reason they ought to be smacked. We have one the best stadiums in the country and they come up with this?!

Eff em.

Again its amazing to think some people are upset with this!

You know what those kids are going to think on Team #119 when they run out on the field in Nashville in the new Nike swag "I'm playing in a National Football League Stadium!"

Had to Google LP Field to figure out where it was. Don't see much point in playing the game there though.

We are playing UAB in Nashville instead of traveling to Conneticut to play the Huskies. We will still have 7 games at Neyland so it's not like we're giving up a home game. I do wish our first game in Nike gear would be in Knoxville though. I'm guessing the Nike unveil will be at the 2015 orange and white game.

All of them. That's why games are never blacked out in Nashville.

I love the Vols first, then the Titans. Titans are no threat to Vols whatsoever. Never understood the hate for them

7 out of 12 games in Tennessee or 8? Either way, thats a good year and timing to make a serious run at the SEC.

Did you just make the argument that he should be a Grizz fan, because they're in TN, while simultaneously trashing the Titans?

The day the Titans meet the Vols in the SB, I'll pull for UT. Until then, I'll proudly root for both.

Haha, I didn't catch the Grizz thing

Vols are 1-0 at LP. Should be 2-0 after this game. Good place to watch a game and ice cold beer. What's to hate?

I don't have a problem with LP field, but UAB? I don't get that. I could see maybe a VT or UNC or maybe even Clemson, but UAB? What's the point????

I think that's the point. It's a non-marquis game that wouldn't sell out in Knoxville anyway.

Look at this way, it has us talking about the UAB game in 2015. Otherwise, it wouldn't hardly get a mention.

Nashville radio is hard to listen to anymore.

Yep. The Vandy homers on 104.5 this morning were trying to stir it up over the UT game at LP field. The question: "Do you like the idea, or would Vandy fans feel like UT is invading their turf?" I almost spit coffee on my windshield driving to work. They make it sound like Vandy actually has turf...:lolabove::eek:lol:

Oh, and folks were actually tweeting in because UT was playing UAB. You know, we should really try to step it up and play a quality OOC schedule like Vandy...:whistling:
