2017 Around the SEC Thread

I don't think that's how it works. I think it will work that way for the SEC tournament seeding, but all 3 would be considered conference champs.

Same as if Florida and LSU both win. Florida would not be considered outright champion because they took 2 of 3 from LSU earlier in the year.

I was referring to the seeding, my apologies. However, if LSU or UF "celebrate" a "championship" after both losing to UK it will be embarrassing. UK will be the only league team to go 8-2 in SEC series and own series wins over the next 2 teams. Its hard to argue on paper they're not the league champs. They had the toughest road in the East as well with series vs 3 of the top 4 in the West.

Well, hopefully they aren't going to have to worry about that.

:)

On paper, all three teams would have the same record in the SEC. In other words, having the most votes in the popular election doesn't matter as much as the electoral college, no matter how much some folks complain about it!:)

And had UK won, 2 would look like life champions laying claim to a regular season SEC championship. If you're the #1 seed in Hoover it means you were the #1 team in the regular season. There's a reason there is a set of tiebreaker protocols in place.

It's not close to the same thing.

Keep in mind, I'm saying this now that my team is on the other end of the deal. If LSU wins today, I wouldn't consider calling themselves SEC champions to be bogus.

Except both would officially be recognized as SEC Co-Champions by the conference.

The tiebreakers are ONLY for the tournament. UK has bragging rights but that's about it.

Holbrook just made himself look like a fool. He says point blank in the pregame that the only way his team can win is to score a lot of runs in a high scoring game and then the fool tries to sac bunt in the first inning after an infield hit. Makes zero sense.

24 bome runs through Friday morning in big Hoover Met! Games taking a long time & rains have played havoc with the schedule. STILL great SEC BASEBALL! Not the same here without USCjr Hoot Man, who died a while back.
