2017 Around the SEC Thread

Did you expect a team full of freshmen playing a lot to win in the SEC?

I think our disconnect is that you are looking at this season in a vacuum. If this was year 2 of the Serrano era, I'd be on board that we've seen improvement.

I'm not on board with Serrano getting a reset after year 4 and this is just year 2 of a new rebuild. So yes, I expect in year 6 of a coach that our team could put together a .500 SEC record.

So who will be the ole miss coach next month?

Who will replace Corbin of he doesn't pull off a good final 2 weekends?

I think it goes without saying why those 2 coaches have built some goodwill with their fan bases.

When we make 13 straight NCAAT, I'm certainly willing to give out some free passes for a down year every so often. Especially if we make Omaha 3 times during that time and win a national championship and a runner-up.

I think it goes without saying that a team with a lineup full of freshmen is going to struggle in the SEC. That is why I am not jumping off of a cliff because this team played so bad in 2 weekends.

Florida, Kentucky and LSU all tied for first place in SEC going into last night. Going to be an interesting weekend.

UK will be outright champs because they hold the tiebreaker with LSU and UF.

I don't think that's how it works. I think it will work that way for the SEC tournament seeding, but all 3 would be considered conference champs.

Same as if Florida and LSU both win. Florida would not be considered outright champion because they took 2 of 3 from LSU earlier in the year.

That is correct. UK would be the #1 seed but all 3 can claim a share of the regular season title.
