2018 MLB Draft

Huh?

We are just saying a kid shouldn't be able to be drafted out of a juco unless they are

Why? Going the JUCO route takes heart. Some do it because of grades, some where overlooked in HS, other's realize there D1 choice was wrong. Regardless, the choice to go JUCO is less "sexy" but the payoff for betting on themselves is less years of waiting. Everyone should have a choice.

I love Juco baseball I just don't think the mlb draft should figure into the reasoning a player goes there. I think that's a very poor reason to do play JC baseball

Then sign with Cleveland State right off the bat. Don’t sign with UT, give a coach a pledge, then get butt hurt with a “I’ll show them attitude” after the draft and then go JUCO.

Then don't commit to a 4 year institution.

Serrano at least once let a kid commit when he knew he wouldn't have the grades for UT, so his draft leverage wouldn't be hurt...if that's what happened here, I'm less mad about it, but I don't get the sense that's what happened here.

What you have are $ hungry agents talking their clients into going juco so they can get their small pay checks in shorter order. Truth is very very very few juco kids get the big pay days that D1 guys get. I for one believe kids should turn down anything under 400k and most jucos don't get that much anyway

Yea that could be the case

The kid could have been borderline grades wise and not have made it as well.
We don't know

Absolutely. We don't know the relationship at all. It's just...I should shut up about it...ya'll have a good night...CTV knows what he's doing. The future is bright.

Don't feel bad for TN or Vitello. Promises are made on both sides and in most cases the recruiter wins out.

Oh, don’t misunderstand my argument. I understand the promises on both sides. My biggest problem is this: Let’s say a kid signs with SEC school. They don’t like the draft. They go to Motlow for draft next year and the draft only. Now why wouldn’t it help that kid to go to the SEC school and compete vs the big boys instead of the slums vs Chatt St? Why should the SEC school get screwed because Motlow can allow them to be drafted?

So I have been out on the road working,,tried to keep up with the draft....Just too hard
,,,,soo how many Tennessee commits got drafted? and who from our current roster got drafted,,, sorry i could go back and look i guess..and i see juco talk,,, I'm assuming we had our juco players coming in get drafted.... and has any of them signed yet? Virtually all of them signed

67% of drafted JUCO's, from 2014-2017, signed.

328 of the 488.

100 were drafted in 2018.

Of course I have no idea how many of these are using the system or how many went to JUCO because of lack of offers from bigger schools.
