I thought sisaq had a good post; he did not demean Dawn in any way or take away from SC's championship. In the last 4 years, if only considering injuries, Dawn has been lucky when compared to Holly. TBPH, if that post upsets a visitor, he may want to consider not going to opposing fan sites and instead stay in his coop.

That said, most of our Gamecock visitors:good!: are good posters and guests. Maybe this one will stop being so sensitive and turn out like the big guys.

There was a rumor from one of our better informed board members that there was a possible transfer considering the LVs for next year. Based on my memory the inference was that the player might be a fourth year senior who would not have to sit out. The rumor came before the LVs redshirt juniors decided to stay another year.

For 2018-19 it would not be surprising if the LV consider any inquiries involving a quality Post or power forward who has announced she is transferring. But only speculating on hot-air during basketball downtime.

The poster was commenting about Ododa's potential to come to UT or not!! ?? And if the transfer happened....we would not care if we lost Ododa.
Mercedes coming back ONE year does not make me not worry about losing Ododa! MTSU was suggesting the transfer would help us more than one year ! Or so I think.

I truly don't mean to be negitive, but please when was mtsu correct on anything. I won't go into the many...hugely off opinions...like Cox was a Notre Dame lock last year...hello Mulkey did you know that?...or any other. Recruiting is rumours at best. And anyone not a parent is just not in the know...period. Seriously people, ask yourself...why would an adult spread rumours about a teenager who they have undoubtedly ever meet, let alone asked personally where are you going to spend your next 4 years? At best, they are spreading rumours about a child whom they have heard from another adult, who heard from another so called adult, etc...but really they never know their high school coaches or teammates. They simply spread rumours and jump on any rumour they can...ask yourself why? Because to me it is creapy...and something we teach are kids not to do! Then there is the one "anti set shot" who self proclaims himself as an alpha male, and says college and high school girls need that! Oh my, and further fancies a world where division 1 players want him to work with them...instead of their division 1 coaches. Hmmm why isn't alpha coaching anywhere but AAU? Has he ever won anything? Dang he spouts out on Holly enough...what has he accomplish...i mean her jersey is retired...etc. Wake up and ask why these people spout info and stories and then disappear. Never say...opps my info was way off, or i was just (acting like a 7th grader) spreading rumours I heard about some 16 yr old girl...opps sorry. I guess because we would say...dang creep...get a life!

And since I am on a roll. Merecedes gets up and down the court better than anyone her size...she has to play 40 minutes people! If she went pro she would have gone top 3. Holly out coached Muffet Dawn Shaf and Tara. The game plans were spot on and yes the players showed up. The problem was the players didnt show up for a lot of little games. Pat always said she couldnt ciach effort but Holly sure better know how according to most of you negitive...know nothings! We had 7 players. Try doing anything as many minutes as these ladies and tell us it is coaching.

Furthermore, if anyone thinks Middleton will not average 20 minutes a game next year than they simply never watched us play. She will start at the 2 and or be the 6th man. She is too smart and offensively gifted. Her defense has picked up and she is at her best in a full court game.

Most trying to speculate what a 17 or 18 year old will do needs the experience of raising a teenager before they can suggest what they will do or say! And if their parents are involved with their decisions.... or maybe their AAU coach that thinks they are in control! Someone overheard a coach say! Some uncle goes to church with her mother and she said, It's mostly supposition. But it is enjoyable to talk about or there would not be a forum to read about such things! I enjoy what Chris, MTSU, Coach J , and many others say about these recruits. It's fun and interesting. And we can all disagree and say why!

Mercedes is 6'6" and I so want her to use her height and not bring the ball down and let the minions have it. She lets little people push her around and keep her from getting rebounds. We have all met or seen aggressive people in our lives and most have learned that they will continue to push until you push them back. MR (please) start pushing back! You have five fouls to use make them count and not act like you don't want to touch someone! ACT like you are the biggest one on the court!!!

Alexa can shoot ... she cannot guard anyone or not yet! If you were developing a defense against UT would you plan on stopping Mercedes? Most teams double or triple team her! What about DD....who is gonna guard this beautiful athlete? Probably their best player! Did you forget Nared ? That leaves who to guard Alexa!!!!!! You guessed it ! Anyone with minimal athletic ability can stop her. She scored most of her points in pre season games or bottom dewellers in the SEC. 75% of the games she was ineffective. I hope she can do well next year because I want to get ahead of teams and let these freshmen learn the college game.
I did not mean to offend but these are just my opinions. And as we all know everybody has one 😜

Ultimately, the coach is RESPONSIBLE for the performance of his or her team. True or no? True. When teams perform badly, underachieve, the coach gets sacked. This is true at all level of collegiate and pro sports, even high school sports. Trying to blame poor performances on the players is a CHEAP excuse and doesn't wash, even if it is true, as the buck ALWAYS stops with the coach. In case you missed it, it is the coach's JOB to motivate his or her players. If you can't do that, then you are a major failure as a coach--and Warlick has shown time and again that she cannot motivate her players. That's the biggest coaching red flag in the business. The bottom line is how the team performs, is it winning--all else is excuse making. And the Vols have lost 26--26--games in two years with a talented and veteran lineup. That's about as big as FAIL as you can get. Warlick is a lousy coach.

I believe that Raider posted,after Shepard and others had announced plans to transfer,that the player he was talking about had not made any announcement. So,probably not Shepard. It is fun speculating about such things and wondering if and when things might happen. All honest opinions should be noted and can be agreed with or not.

Middleton may start a game or two at the 2 position but she will not average 20 minutes a game in this old coaches opinion. She has decent offense at times but cannot guard an anvil. By the end of the year she may get some mop up duty but that is not in stone. Great young lady but with the new kids on the block she is a backup at best. I have watched us play probably as much or more than you, but the thing is no one has watched us play next year yet. What is great about a forum is we all pull for the LVs but have different opinions on how to get the WIN!:bash::bash::bash:

I believe that is directed at me...so. I retired at 45...I don't need to work or confirm to your 9 to 5 lifestyle.LOL I do enjoy the early mornings at times. Just so happens I was waiting for my uber ride to Airport for an early flight. I am in Key West now and just killing a little time before heading out again for some wonderful night life into the early morning hours. Enjoy working suckers, some of us worked smart and get to enjoy not doing it anymore.

The LVs will have two with no more commitments will have a roster of 10 and a junior and senior class of only two each.

If they were to accept a transfer this year who would be eligible in 2018 as a junior she would not have a major impact on a freshman decision to commit (IMO). I would find it odd to accept a player who would be a sophomore in 2018 because the quality of the four is almost in itself a maximum. And again a speculation - posts and power forwards only apply! smile
