2018 Recruiting Class

Made Aquira DeCosta's top 5 😬. That most likely means an official visit so hopefully her love for Diamond and Te'a (she has said in interviews she admires Te'a) and her friendship and playing ball with Evina will help persuade her to come here. She also has a friendship and played with that post player who signed with Louisville. Should be interesting!! But we are in on some good recruits 😬😬😬

Just looking at Collins on film I would say she is a Nared type player. She is not really a banger inside I expect she will be a perimeter player or a four.

I live in VA and have seen her play... def a versatile post player who will be able to take people off the dribble. Her footwork has improved and that's how she gets rebounds. When she is down low she pulled down rebounds because of her height and she is more athletic than she looks. She will hit a trail jumper one moment, the next she will do an up and under move, and the next she will do a spin move baseline. Her team is STACKED with talent on the perimeter (she also played with Mikayla Vaughn the ND recruit) so a lot of Amira's points came from her not being the first, second, third option but make no mistake the girl is talented. I think this year with Vaughn being gone you will see a more demanding post player whose stats will improve from more opportunities. Playing with Grayson-Scott and the highly ranked sophomore this year will provide her with more scoring opportunities as the main post.

I agree as I have seen her play as well! She is legit and I love that she is unselfish but can be selfish if she has to be! Her at the 4 helps because DeCosta wants to remain a wing (from what I have read and heard) which helps us a lot imo already having Collins penciled in there

Couldn't agree more! Having her at the 4 and KK at the "5" is a nice combo for later on. If Mompremier joins that rotation with Green I think it affords you to bring KK along while exposing her to some great practice and allow her to learn game! Amira plays for a very good high school coach who teaches the game so her bball IQ is up there as well which is awesome to have in a post! If our players will cut and move without the ball you will have Westbrook who will find them, Anastasia showed me she will push tempo and find players and then having younger players like Massengill and then Amira in the post who understands the game would hopefully be awesome ! Getting KK will pay off ... she will have to get in better shape but she understands how to rebound sorta like Anosike wasn't the best leaper but she is gonna put her backside on you and move you out the way!

I wonder what took us so long to offer also? Is it because of the Collins Verbal? She (Gabby) list herself as 6'1" on her Twitter page but other places list her as 6'2" (which isn't that big of a difference) but is she a 4 or 3 and are we going more after DeCosta to play the 4 and have her as a (back up plan) kind of like we had Dorrie Harrison & KeKe Mckinney

We have six girls rated in top fifty from Tennessee for 2018 ... I think the rating sources missed her or she is not a four or five star? Alexander,, Cambridge,, girl in Chattanooga??? Still no mention of them and Tennessee? Just Jasmine and Balogun in Tennessee.

Checked her twitter following.. Anastasia only but no coach or UT account. But she has 700+ and every other is a coach from somewhere!!! She has visited some on her own especially ole miss and miss. State. Insell and his AAU flight is on her so we got Anastasia out of that group! But no one ever heard of her ????

Rennia Davis was not even considering Tennessee in the fall of last year and had stated she wasn't going to consider anyone who came in late to the game... Then she ended up being a signee by the end of the early signing period...

Being early or the first to the recruiting of a player is not always the ace in the hole people think it is.

Trust me I know, I just was asking because she is an in state player, we probably would've gotten in on her earlier, not saying she wont land here, just wonderining if there is a reason

That was hard to watch. Well, she is a lefty. It looks like she plays hard and has some handle for her size. Obviously, it is not her highlight footage, but indications suggest coaches probably see a high upside to her game.

She is close to Memphis..... Have we ever had a. Recruit from Memphis???

Only twelve teams to consider! And how many can you officially visit? I wouldn't want to make twelve trips to that many schools. 😩

I think you can unofficially visit as many as you like because you are paying for it but you can only officially visit 5 that is paid for by the respective schools, many to my knowledge she has already unofficially visited! I hope we are one of her 5 officials because that would say a lot, I wonder what the time frame for her to cut her list down and then announce is? She is also currently injured which may lead to some schools backing off since she is unlikely to suit up for AAU ball this summer

She is a post. Plays with a high motor and some will like her some won't. She plays and act as if she's the best player on the court evrtytime she hits the floor.. But very good kid and and total opposite off the court. Her mom is the vice principal for munford

She's good and can hold her own. I think she's Mississippi State recruit to lose. Her aau teammate has already chosen them and vic has been to plenty of her games. But i've seen her snd jamirah shutes and I still think shutes is better and van flat out take over a game. Ive seen Alex fuller in the crowd quite a bit so i think that's where shutes will probably end up. But both are really talented.
