Yeah. It is the fans' fault for expecting a well paid coach to do his job... couldn't have anything to do with that coach, right?

Take the fans out of the equation and opposing recruiters have 99% of the negative recruiting material they have right now.

Want to talk about "self inflicted wounds"... we can talk about Pruitt's mismanagement of the QB position and the lack of progress by his D and even the underperformance by one of the most talented OL's in CFB.

Those who know anything about football recognize that Butch recruited well during his first couple of years. Biggest problem was, he made promises that he could not fill and it backfired on him. The layers turned on him @nd he could not recover their support. The players still respect Pruitt and support him. They do play hard for him. If they didn’t, they would have killed this class, but they haven’t. That speaks well for the future and we are signing good players in positions of need, despite the best efforts of the Negavols who post on this board. With a full Spring practice and have a couple of QBs who will not give games away, plus improvement and added depth at the LB positions, the future looks much better.

Butch was a good recruiter (car salesman?) but was a terrible player developer and had problems as a game time coach. I thought Pruitt would combine all three traits. He still may. But this year, he got out coached and many players didn't appear to get better. And, what happened to our vaunted O-Line? With that said, I see next year as critical to whether he stays or goes. Hopefully, we'll have a full season for a good evaluation. I'm certainly rooting for him.

Each situation is different, the Arkansas staff in year1 didn't do anything better than what Pruitt and staff did in year 1. Claiming they had great success this year just isn't true, and if it is then Pruitt had a great year1.

So your using covid as an excuse to why Tn lost to Ark and Ky? Losing 7 straight by double digits and not knowing that your QB sucks does more damage than any fans can do. I guess Covid only affects losing teams. Explain these other schools who are firing coaches.

Clearly, coaching is primarily to blame. We were out-coached in both games. And yes, JG playing in those games is part of the 'bad coaching decisions'. One would think having a supposed top-notch OC and a top-notch DC (Jeremy) would result in better coaching.

Has Tennessee flipped any big commits? I've been in meetings all day and havent kept up with this stuff? Did Pruitt save his job?

So does every team that sucks at recruiting have crappy negative fans and you're telling me that Alabama has all positive fans? Is that really what you believe or are you a troll?

When has Pruitt proven he can recruit well?

That #2 class you mention was only #2 because we had 23 commits while everyone else had like 8. It was only a matter of time before we took our place in the depth of the rankings. Our average player score was then as it is now - average.

In 2015 we had the #4 class with an average of 89.48. Also that’s with 30 commits. Now taking the average per player score we ranked around 12th.

In 2014 with 32 commits we ranked 7th with an average of 89.50. Which again puts us outside the top 10.

Pruitt already has better classes in 2019 and 2020.

According to the rankings the Butch was still a better recruiter. Also don’t act like all of Pruitts recruits have panned out because they haven’t. I am not defending Jones by no means I am just simply stating Pruitt is not a great nothing. He may be a good DC, Good Recruiter, and Good position coach. Him being at Tennessee has exposed him for what he is. He no longer is as UGA, Alabama or FSU when they was good. All those HC he worked under are great and there’s a reason why Sabans assistants have never beat him. Once they leave Saban and Jimbo they all of sudden are not what they was when they all alone and have no help calling the shots. Let’s call Pruitt what he really is and that’s a bad HC. And again like I previously stated before. Why are we hiring a coach that couldn’t even get a HC job at the high school level?
