This will be my eleventh POTUS election since I've been old enough to vote. 6 went the way I preferred even if I didn't vote for the winner and 4 went the other way.

What's been consistent throughout is that 1) Federal power over our lives has increased, 2) We have embroiled ourselves in foreign wars and meddling, 3) spending growth has out paced population growth and inflation, 4) laws and regulations are made to benefit special interests, 5) my life has remained relatively unchanged by 1 - 4.

I expect the same will happen this next go around.
