2020 Presidential Race

I just did. Not sure what point you were hoping to get me on, but it didn’t work.

Well, let's see. You claim it's the "will" of the voters. The Colorado Governor just stated he would award his State's electoral votes to the national popular vote winner...

Regardless of who actually wins his State in the general election. So, he's basically going against the will of his own voters if his State actually votes for the "losing" candidate.

But that's okay, right?

It only comes into force once they have enough states to guarantee the outcome of the election. Are sure you read the article all the way through?

I sure did. And basically Thomas Jeffeson had it right. Democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where 51% of the people may take away the rights of the other 49%.

The Electoral College was created to avoid this very same scenario the Colorado Governor will sign.

What you need to do is give up the butt-hurt from 2016 over losing the election. That's the only thing this stems from.

Well that’s a flat out lie.

Well that’s a flat out lie.

Is it?

There isn’t any one specific reason for the creation of the electoral college, but to put it bluntly, there was skepticism that the people could be entrusted with the decision. It is completely obsolete in an era where people directly cast their vote for president.

Which is translated as "I'm really butt-hurt over thr election still."

I really can't believe you are arguing in favor of this lunacy. This bill would in essence give 1 man the power to override the votes of his entire state.

And just remember, one day a Republican will be Gov.

Does a governor really have the power to do that?

To award his state's electoral votes based on the national vote tally regardless of what his own constituents' votes would dictate?

It’s not just the governor. It’s legislation he is signing.

Except 49 other states are gonna determine who wins this state because of one person. The people of Colorado may as well sit at home instead of vote and just watch what the other states do. Completely idiotic and absurd.
Lol

No. States decide how they award electoral votes.

Your argument, even as absurd as it is, means the State of Colorado can award the electoral votes to the National popular vote winner. So, even if the vote went 100% to the losing party, they could still award them to the popular vote winner.

You claim this is the will of the people?

I agree, That's why I can't figure out what they are doing is supposed to accomplish other than making the votes of Colorado citizens irrelevant.

It's not the will of the people but it's probably constitutional and it's lunacy.

Absolutely not. You still haven't proved how this is Constitutional.
How is it not?

Yes. Even if they don’t like the outcome, plenty of people agree the popular vote should decide the presidency.
