2020 Presidential Race

Yes.

You are saying that the reason Moscow Mitch blocked the bills to improve election security was because there were pork riders on them. I maintain he blocked them because it makes Trump mad whenever anybody points out that there was Russian interference in the election he "won."

So put up or shut up. Show me the pork attachments to those bills and proof that is why they were blocked.

I didn't think so.
I didn't say that or anything like it. I am just saying I find it interesting that you are apoplectic at the thought of any bill in DC having riders attached to the point that you demand someone research it. I don't GAF what the reason was for blocking it. I am merely pointing out that due to historical facts and the liklihood that congress will continue a long standing practice, there was some crap attached to this and every other bill in DC. Why don't you prove it was a stand alone bill?

And Mr Trump did win the election. It matters not whether you or the rest of the butthurt leftists acknowledge it.

Not testy. I understood your question, but I obviously limited that statement to the issue of criminal justice reform, so the response was to point you back in the direction of what I said.

My morning freed up a bit, after all, so I’ll get to take lunch:

Booker’s stated policy is to reduce incarceration rates by lowering sentencing guidelines for nonviolent drug offenses, offering clemency to those serving long sentences for nonviolent drug crimes, and legalizing marijuana (hopefully with other definitional reforms, although nobody has talked about that, and I won’t let best stand in the way of better). He wants to address recidivism by removing barriers to employment and expunging records for decriminalized offenses. Generally he is disparaging of the war on drugs. I support all of those things as they result in a net increase in Liberty.

He also wants to restore voting rights for former felons, which I support, even if it’s somewhat self-serving.

Booker proposes reinvesting in communities, which I do not support. It’s nebulous, it feeds corruption, the money doesn’t get to where it needs to be, and the government just cannot fix poverty or mandate social change. I’d prefer they just not spend it at all and give it back to the people in the form of lower taxes. Some of which would end up in those communities. Bennet proposed reinvesting in education, which I think is more plausible but would do less to effect the social change needed to reduce recidivism.

Some of them mentioned ending qualified immunity for police, which I think is a nuanced issue that is being tossed out too casually to score points, but a move towards heightened accountability for law enforcement would result in increased liberty for others. Unchecked abuses by law enforcement have lasting effects that go beyond the individuals involved. To some extent, decriminalizing marijuana and ending the war on drugs would address some of these issues, over time.

Booker probably has the best record on this particular issue. He sees these issues as significant to African American voters, who he sees as key to democrat electoral victory. So, it’s in his self-interest to follow through.

Presently, it’s an issue that has some bipartisan support, so the likelihood of any of it getting accomplished seems greater than invasive Dem policies, like gun control.

He's bought and paid for by Big Pharma

What's expected by the Dems if Harris gets the nomination? Do they still expect to carry that black voter demographic enough to win? What happens if they lose 10-20% of that voter base?

There are already issues with her not being an actual African American getting raised by the ADOS. There are already issues being raised about her treatment of African Americans when she was a prosecutor, which were brought into the national light at the debate.

Harris's facial expressions and body language showed how absolutely pissed off she was while Tulsi hammered her. I expect Harris to continue getting hammered over those issues not only by other candidates but by parts of the black community as well.

With the talk about wealth inequality, I wonder what each Dem candidates net worth is? IIRC, Forbes estimated Bernie's net worth to be like 3-3.5 billion dollars.

I think many of them voted independent and then had a meltdown because Trump won.

This is actually just not true in the numbers. Not enough people voted for Jill Stein to steal it from Hillary. Trump had more of a Gary Johnson problem than Hillary did with Stein.

Lol..Swallowell is possibly negative worth. Made over $1 million in last 6 years. Guess he overextend on his VISA.
And how is Beto worth millions?

Married into wealth. Those numbers are silly low.

Depends on who is judging. Of course most liberals will say Trump is way worse because they loathe him so.
That's true of everybody I guess. Most on the board think Obama is Satan himself. Some think Trump is worse.
Just a matter of what side of the aisle one aligns with the most.

I think the past couple of nights solidified Biden as the front-runner.

However, he doesn't seem to have the stamina to stand up to Trump.
