1) Democrats have never carried on the charade of being fiscally conservative. You do know that bill had to pass the House first before it got to the Senate, right?
H.R. 3877: Bipartisan Budget Act of 2019
Senate Votes For: 29 Republicans 37 Democrats
Senate Votes Against: 23 Republicans 5 Democrats
House Votes For: 65 Republicans 219 Democrats
House Votes Against: 132 Republicans 16 Democrats
Out of the entire Congress only 21 Democrats voted against this spending bill. 155 Republicans voted against it.

I don't think Dems are as divisive as Trump. Just opinion, as you said.
I think Dems have accepted he won. At the least they have acknowledged if there were shenanigans, he got away with it. Dems are not out of touch with America; otherwise they wouldn't have won a majority in the House in 2018.
With Trump, the "spend, spend, spend" narrative doesn't work. He seems fine with spending with no real answer about where the money will come from. The Tea Party is dead, remember.
There are good candidates out there, much better than Trump. I know you disagree, but there are options beyond Trump.
Free health care, free tuition, living wages.........
Wait a decade, see the results. There is not a single person who advocates this who can sit down and do the dollars or outline the exponential fall out.
I say have at it.
So Trump and the Democrats worked together to pass this Bill?1) Democrats have never carried on the charade of being fiscally conservative.
2) The Trump Administration negotiated this bill with Pelosi and House Democrats and Trump has been lobbying hard for a majority of Republican support for the bill in the Senate .... and he got it. Make no mistake, this legislation is Trump's baby.
3) To say that the Republican Party's past criticism of Obama's discretionary spending looks hypocritical now, would be a massive understatement.
Can I get this free health care, along with a free house and a free truck while they are handing out freebies?
Here's my resume

Medicare for all would make the .gov a lot more powerful and intrusive but could have a devastating effect on health care. Student debt I don't have time to write a thesis on right now. But what is most concerning is the unicorn type thinking e.g. "get off fossil fuels in 10 years"... do you think that is even possible without regressing to a pre-industrial economy?I think the economy would be stronger under some of their proposals. (Health care, some level of student debt forgiveness)

Why should student loans be forgiven? Seriously. What about those of us that played by the rules and repaid our loans, and now under this insanity will have to pay for deadbeats with gender studies degrees? Decisions, like elections, have consequences. You want to study stupid **** and pay a lot to do it, you get to deal with the fallout. I.don't.care. if you are in debt for the rest of your life. Pay your ****ing bills.I think the economy would be stronger under some of their proposals. (Health care, some level of student debt forgiveness)
Having a $10,500 per capita health care cost is already having a devastating effect on the country and it's only getting worse.Medicare for all would make the .gov a lot more powerful and intrusive but could have a devastating effect on health care. I find it to be self serving corruption. Liberals control higher education. Liberals in control of higher education increase costs far greater than the pace of inflation. Liberal politicians promote free (taxpayer funded) education. Liberal politicians promote loan forgiveness for those in debt because of liberal institutions. Why should student loans be forgiven? One of the British conservatives had a proposal to forgive student loans if the borrower started a business and employed 10 people for 5 years. I can get behind something like that, but this wholesale forgiveness of undertaken debts is just stupid.

Of course we can't get off fossil fuels in 10 years, but we should do more to move in that direction.
