2020 Presidential Race

I find it ironic that people who support the Lord Red Hat criticize Biden's gaffes and "mental faculties" when we've had these gems over the years:

“And they showed — they showed from the White House all the way down. . . . There were people. Nobody has ever seen it. The Capitol down to the Washington Monument — people. But I saw pictures that there were no people. Those pictures were taken hours before.”

"I get my numbers from a lot of sources, like Homeland Security, primarily. And the numbers that I have from Homeland Security are a disaster. And you know what else is a disaster? The numbers that come out of Homeland Security, Kirstjen [Nielsen], for the cost that we spend and the money that we lose because of illegal immigration. Billions and billions of dollars a month. Billions and billions of dollars and it’s unnecessary. . . . I use many stats . . . you have stats far worse than the ones I use, but I use many stats. But I also use Homeland Security."

“You’ve worked so hard on the kidney,” Trump said. “Very special … the kidney has a very special place in the heart.”

"You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful—I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab them by the p**sy. You can do anything."

"You know what I wanted to. I wanted to hit a couple of those speakers so hard. I would have hit them. No, no. I was going to hit them, I was all set and then I got a call from a highly respected governor...I was gonna hit one guy in particular, a very little guy. I was gonna hit this guy so hard his head would spin and he wouldn’t know what the hell happened...I was going to hit a number of those speakers so hard their heads would spin, they’d never recover. And that’s what I did with a lot—that’s why I still don’t have certain people endorsing me: They still haven’t recovered."

“Actually, I was only kidding. You can get that baby out of here. Don’t worry. I think she really believed me that I love having a baby crying while I’m speaking. That’s OK. People don’t understand. That’s OK."

-Lord Red Hat

There is nothing racist about any of the examples you provided. What Biden said was racist and the ways he touches kids is wrong.

I wasn't pointing out racism. Just his idiocy and incoherence. I'm sure I could find plenty of examples of Trump using racist language. Here's one:

  • 1991: A book by John O’Donnell, former president of Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, quoted Trump’s criticism of a black accountant: “Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day. … I think that the guy is lazy. And it’s probably not his fault, because laziness is a trait in blacks. It really is, I believe that. It’s not anything they can control.” Trump at first denied the remarks, but later said in a 1997 Playboy interview that “the stuff O’Donnell wrote about me is probably true.”

Majority of Pennsylvania's Working-Class Voters Back Trump Reelection

A majority of Pennsylvania’s working class voters want to see President Donald Trump reelected in 2020, according to new poll out of the state.
A poll released by Franklin & Marshall College on Thursday indicates that 51 percent of Pennsylvania voters with a high school degree or less believe Trump deserves a second term. Conducted between July 29 and August 4 by surveying 627 registered voters, the poll is good news for the president’s reelection chances.

1991. Gangsta rap (NWA) was big and new back then. I know I looked at black people different after I heard the song "f the police ". Do you have any racist examples that Trump has said in the last 2 or 3 months?

  • Trump mocked Elizabeth Warren’s presidential campaign, again calling her “Pocahontas” in a tweet before adding, “See you on the campaign TRAIL, Liz!” The capitalized “TRAIL” is seemingly a reference to the Trail of Tears — a horrific act of ethnic cleansing in the 19th century in which Native Americans were forcibly relocated, causing thousands of deaths.
  • Trump tweeted that several black and brown members of Congress — Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) — are “from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe” and that they should “go back” to those countries. It’s a common racist trope to say that black and brown people, particularly immigrants, should go back to their countries of origin. Three of four of the members of Congress whom Trump targeted were born in the US.
I'm sure there are many, many more.

I'm not going to defend dumb things Trump says but that is such a reach.

Do you find it ironic also when the same people calling Trump racist or making racial remarks don’t say a word when Biden does it ? I do .

Neither of those are examples of racism.

My original post wasn't about racism, it was about Trump's incoherence and mistakes while speaking. I didn't really want to get into the racism angle; I think both sides have been throwing around that word a little too loosely this week.

That said, part of the reason I don't want Biden to win the nomination is because of some of these remarks he has made over the years. There is a racial component to some of them, and I don't like it.

I'm going to take after my Comrade Luther for a moment. Both Trump and Biden have made racist comments, but one has done it far, far more than the other. There is a continuum, and one is farther on the wrong end than the other.

Did I do that right?

And neither will he, from the look of things.

Actually he will IMO. He is the part of the club and only one who is relatively centrist. No way any other wins the general as the party is primarily liberal but not radical. Even the political opinions of Tom Freidman and others see it. Gonna piss of the socialists for the general candidate once again.
