Last I checked he took the L because he gave up a bomb. That’s on him for not matching the opposing pitcher.

The NC St pitcher didn’t bat either. Fact is he made a mistake pitch and the batter made him pay for it. If you give up more run(s) than the other pitcher then that’s called being out pitched. Leiter wasn’t good enough to win on that day. You can blame it on the offense all you want but he should not have given up a bomb if he’s supposed to be “that guy” and projected to go #1 in the draft.

I used to love watching guys like that play ball. Growing up in the 80’s and early 90’s was a fun time to be a MLB fan.
