2021 Lady Vol Recruiting Thread

miles be my guess
that'd be a mistake, she is the only one I consider a speed-guard

The way I see it, we need guards and scoring forwards more than we need inside play at this stage, I would sacrifice the bigs and the PG and three forwards, first
PG. Brooklynn Miles,46-ESPN
Guard
Saniya Rivers,2-PPN, 3-ESPN
Morasha Wiggins,53-PPN,50-ESPN
Jasmine Shavers,60-ESPN
If one of the four don't commit, then I would take the BIG who wanted to play here the most!

I'm fairly certain, during this forced quarantine, the Key sisters have been spending a lot of time together....The discussion of where little sister is going to go to college, has had to have been discussed numerous times...

I'm a fan of hers, and I like the Puckett girl too....When the time is right, we shall all see together.....(there's your cue coach)

One of the few times we differ GT
I am 100% for PG/combo-guard/forwards this next year.

I am pleased with both Karoline Striplin and Kaiya Wynn excellent pickups...
behind them we have 3 spots I'd fill with :
Saniya Rivers (She could be our next Rennia)
Brooklynn Miles (Speed Guard with North/South game)
Morasha Momo Wiggins (Isn't afraid to attack in traffic)
Jasmine Shavers (All around game, attack/mid range/long range)
((I don't see us losing out on more than one of these players at this time))

The way Coach K seems to be going is the athletic, yet savvy all around players with tons of heart.

We've got the best big in the league with Tamari, with plenty of power (KK, MCCoy, Green) and to back her up ... not worried about this spot for now. I'll shop for Bigs next year

Can’t disagree with your wish list at all. So from your lips to God’s ear. I do however, prioritize Teonni for not only X and O reasons but also for program trajectory reasons. It will say a lot to future recruits that the older sister loved the program so much the younger sister wanted to be a part as well. Plus, Mother Key would then be a Lady Vol presence for six straight years! I am a big fan of hers!!

I am a little uncertain re Teonni right now... As the most knowledgeable of our program through inside connection and one of the highest in status, we need her to take the lead and set a visible precedence. Doing so would bring even more immediate clout to our org.

My own perceptions, as a coach is : If I already know she's a "got" and just playing the public game like Azzi Fudd seems to be doing, no problem, but if I am having to work this hard to get a sibling of a player I already have coached there are two potential problems,, It creates uncertainty with the recruits I am trying to get and my own players may feel a sense of jealousy for her if she does come in because they would question their value against a player who has yet to log a minute"

I hope this isn't the case, but perception is reality for most.

As much as I want Teonni to be a Lady Vol, I also recognize that she deserves to be treated exactly the same as any other recruit who does NOT have a sister on the team. Being her own young woman, she deserves to feel no more or less pressure to either make or announce her decision on schools than anyone else has. As absolutely cool as it would be to have Lady Vol siblings, for all we know Teonni may very well have decided to leave Tamari out of her decision — or place her low on either the “pros” or “cons” priorities list.

Would Rivers and Fudd play the same position? Does anyone else have a feeling that Rivers may wait for Fudd since ND may be in the mix for both?

Also, on another note NC or NCS could end up getting Key or Rivers if either wants to stay close to home.

All good points. Hopefully it is the first and she is just enjoying being recruited. She also may just want to blaze her own trail and having her older sister as a LV makes UT less attractive. She would not be the first little sister to feel that way😆

I have coached several sets of sisters, both together and following in their older sister's path...I give all the little sisters the same advice...I will use "Teonni" as an example:

When some asks ;
Are YOU Tamari's sister?
tell them
"No, Tamari is MY sister"

This let's them establish their own identity

I am hoping we sign another quality post for 2021. Dauda from Arkansas would be good. We will only have 2 posts and with injury and possible transfers plus we have the room on the roster.

I still feel the missing piece is the pass first point. A distributor who can get the ball to teammates when, where, and how they want it. Someone who can make the rest of the team better and quick enough to exert some pressure on D. Brooklyn Miles is one who can do that.

You're right about Teonni and Mama Key. Great Parents can enhance the family feeling and camaraderie of a team. I don't know the lady, but it sounds like she brings an intangible benefit to team chemistry.

There's room for two wings

Although it’s just a prediction, hoops86 did predict Striplin committing two weeks before it was announced. Hope it is right View attachment 276180

Not a stretch to guess...Miles,Wiggins and Shavers are all very interested
Miles and Wiggins are tops on my want list
with Saniya above everybody (that girl will be another Rennia)

Nope, not a stretch to call any of them at this point
with the stepping up of Wynn, the dominoes will fall now
It's now more of a question of who will be left off of the bus bc they didn't punch their ticket quick enough

I think he also predicted Sara Puckett to the Lady Vols soon after Karoline’s. commitment. I sure hope he’s right on that one. Key and Puckett, and I’m over the moon. And, we’re very good.
