2022 U.S. Senate Races

That isn't true.

She was a vocal critic of the Democrat's climate plan and subsequent legislation over the course of the past year and a half. She has always opposed anything which even hints at limiting greenhouse gases. Her voting record reveals someone who is inflexible. There is a reason that Liz Cheney chaired the House Republican Conference, the third highest position in the House Republican leadership from 2019 to 2021, before coming out so forcefully against Donald Trump's conduct after 1/6.

Republicans new favorite study trashes Biden's climate plans – but who's behind it?

When it comes to matters of policy :

If it involved deregulation, she was all for it.

If it involved a ban or restriction, she was adamantly opposed to it.

... and there is no such thing as compromise with her.

^^^ This ^^^ made her a darling of the right, before 1/6. To pretend otherwise, is either ignorant or dishonest. The one and only reason she fell out of favor within the Republican Party was her high profile opposition to Donald Trump. That is why the GOP is now a cult of personality.

They have only one litmus test for party membership now = An unconditional devotion towards, and a passionate defense of anything having to do with Donald Trump.
This commentary from the right about Liz Cheney is just insane. If she had Trump on tape admitting to committing treason and she personally put the handcuffs on him, I still would never vote for her. Ever. They can keep her.

Anyone that would link a 17 month old article to prove Cheney was still publicly discussing policy is either ignorant or dishonest. Maybe that person is just a hack.

Lol...this is another lazy take. The article about Cheney policy is 17 months old. Cheney became possessed with Trump. If you were really honest you would be concerned about what we are seeing out of this White House settling political scores, but instead you act like a sanctimonious fake.

I didn't bring up an article at all. Save that for BB.

Cheney was doing the work of the Bush's and her daddy aka the rinos. They have been bitter since Jeb failed 2016 run. The truth is they were clowns who got us a 20 year war, and lied to destabilize Iraq. Bush also started ringing up massive debt that was the beginning of the sink hole we now see ourselves in.

I think she asked Trump for support in 2020 and he did support her. It's hard finding anything before 2022 on Cheney now.

LOL. She has been discussing that specific climate plan and subsequent legislation ever since then ... and it just recently passed, so it is relevant to the discussion. You are just wrong. She does discuss policy, and she is a devout conservative.

The truth is that Liz Cheney voted with Trump's stated position on legislation 93% of the time, while he was President. She was the chair of the House Republican Conference for a reason. She is not a RINO ... she is as conservative as it gets. She was the darling of Republican Party leadership before she began criticizing Trump's conduct. It has to be noted, that she never opposed Trump on any major legislation.

You don't have to sell me on how horrible Liz Cheney is. I knew that before she voted with Trump and the GOP 93% of the time while she was in Congress during the Trump Admin. Y'all can keep her. None of this changes the fact that you have conditional approval for "free thinkers". Liz is doing the same exact thing that you praise Tulsi for, bucking the party, yet Tulsi is receiving special praise on here, even though her policies are antithetical to every position normally espoused on this board by folks. Including you, unless you now support Bernie's policies of M4A and the Green New Deal.

Let me help. He likes a free thinking Dem who bucks leadership but not a free thinking republican who bucks leadership.

Cheney isn’t “bucking” party leadership, she was pandering for a shot at higher office.

What??????????
She was attempting to increase her popularity within the republican party?
Not even you can believe that.

So her issues with big tech censorship are against what many believe. Her position with interventionism isn't isn't worth a debate? Her America First - fix home at least a reasonable idea? This country is suffering right now. There is no amount of free money that is going to fix it. There has to be some principle changes and corruption has to be rooted out. The federal government has gotten to big and it's become a gift and power grab. I don't go to Tulsi for economic policy but you don't like her because she has an issue with the trans agenda and turning our school into social experiment playgrounds. She is not AOC or Bernie. And if they have concerns about those issues then they sure as hail don't talk about it.

This proves she voted with Trump when he was POTUS. That's all it proves guy. Again it's not how Cheney voted that is the relevant discuss. It's how she stop making key issues like immigration, low taxes, energy, etc front and center talking points. The topic is about key issues for Wyoming. This other BS you are veering off to about how she voted when Trump was POTUS is irrelevant to this topic at hand. That was 20 months ago.

You are simple. The Rs have been taking lessons from the Ds and there will NOT be another candidate outside of the political establishment that is pre-approved win the nomination. Chaney fits that mold, she thought her name would carry her in WY and with being reelected she could enter the primaries and her personal mission to destroy Trump would attract the never-Trumpers.

Poor neo-liberals, their January 6 committee hearings took a stake through the chest. It now has lameducks on the committee. It wasn't working anyway, so the DOJ stepped in.

It's Trumpublican election deniers against republicans with a clue. Cheyney was in the second category. The battle for the republican party is being won by the bad guys, to the determent of all.

This post proves we failed some of our kids in the 70's and we see this manifest itself in aging neo-liberals.

Funny, when I told @BowlBrother85 that she was planning a run for higher office a while back he said that was crazy. The day she lost her primary, she said she was looking at a run for President in 24.

I can't for the life of me see how y'all can't see these things coming. Are you often surprised with the plot twist in movies?

I'm often surprised by the complete shallowness and gullibility of posters in the PF..........is that like the same thing?
I certainly hope she is successful in pulling the republican party back to something that at least resembles sanity.

No, it wasn't. She began criticizing Biden's climate plan in February of 2021, but she has remained critical of it ever since, and it just recently passed.

The only "key issue" for Republicans in Wyoming is the unconditional devotion to Donald Trump. That is the only thing that changed for Liz Cheney.

Nope. Not even close.

This is comically absurd. Any time a Republican takes a stand against Trump's immoral conduct, you immediately assign a self-serving motive to it. In this case, it doesn't make any sense at all.

Either it is toe the line 100% or you are against him.
