Democratic Georgia Sen. Raphael Warnock recently sounded the alarm on big corporations buying up swathes of homes in his state. However, he’s taken campaign donations from Wall Street executives at a private equity firm engaged in that very practice.

Warnock’s campaign has raked in almost $38,000 since 2020 from executives at Blackstone, a Wall Street firm with a roughly $130 billion market cap buying up homes in Georgia and across the U.S., according to Federal Election Commission (FEC) records. At the same time, Warnock said in a July hearing Georgia is “in the middle of a housing crisis” and raised concerns “over large institutional investors,” which some experts say are driving up rent prices and displacing minority communities.

Mandela Barnes Talks Up Support for Israel on the Campaign Trail. He Doesn’t Mention His Membership in a Vocal Anti-Israel Group.

Mandela Barnes, the Wisconsin Democratic Senate candidate, has talked up his support for Israel on the campaign trail. Left unmentioned in his stump speeches is his membership, until 2019, in one of the most vocal anti-Israel groups in the state.

"I had an incredible opportunity to visit Israel 10 years ago, got to bear witness to the harsh reality of Israel’s national security," Barnes told the Jewish Democratic Council of America forum in June, adding that he opposes the global Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement (BDS) that seeks to isolate Israel.

But for years after his 2012 Israel trip, Barnes was a member of the Wisconsin chapter of Peace Action, a fringe anti-war group that has promoted boycotts of the Jewish state, defended Palestinian terrorist groups, and lobbied the U.S. government to open diplomatic ties with Iran and North Korea.

Rubio will nut hug whoever is in power. He's like Marsha Blackburn. He won't actively subvert like McConnell, Romney, Graham, Murkowski, etc.

I don't want my Congressional Rep being anyones lapdog. I want them representing my district and doing what's best for it, if that coincides with what's best for the country then great. If not then his one and only concern should be TN 6th congressional district.

So every Congressional Rep should fight to do what is best for their district regardless of how it impacts the rest of the country?
That does seem to be aligned with your overall philosophy.

It's just that doing what is best for your district may frequently mean compromising and doing what is best for the state and/or the nation. Some of the more shallow and self-centered citizens of the district may not be wise enough to see it that way.

Watching the Left white knight for the Cheney family is something I would have laughed at 20 years ago. Not to mention also embracing W Bush.

I know there really isnt a theoretical low they wont go in their quest for power, but this is still quit shocking.

edit: and by the Left, I dont mean politicians, the UniParty was alive and well 20 years ago, I'm talking about political followers.
