If they don't shoot at least 35% from three I don't want them. After this year we need all the makers we can get. We've seen what shooters can do.
I can agree with you on Key, I had high hopes for him but he ended up being a pretty big bust.Well, he quite literally is a shooter. 44% FG. I’ll take that.
Same with Girard. If those two were on the roster this year, we would have been a lot better.
Key was a wasted scholly.
One thing about basketball is one does not have to be in the SEC, Big 10-Big 12 etc to have basketball teams good enough to beat the power five schools. Seems like FAU is having a lot a lot of fun beating teams from multiple Power Five schools. I have always been a Tennessee/SEC fan. My brother played basketball at Tennessee and my son played football football there. My other brother played football at California Berkley Basketball and Baseball are two sports where some of the 330 or so Division 1 teams can hold their own with Power Five teams.Yeah the SEC isn't the Big South
This is someone we’ve talked to, but I rate this as very low odds. He is tight with Arkansas and Memphis from his first recruitment, and that should tell you the kind of attention he likes. We didn’t even recruit him the first time around, so I’m not so sure about that. Would love it because he’s super talented, but we haven’t landed anybody this high profile yet in the transfer portal.
I will be excited to finally find out the big guy you’re talking about lol. Just need patience haha. Any developments on a PG? I know we seem to be very interested in the WKU big bodied PG.This is someone we’ve talked to, but I rate this as very low odds. Arkansas was my initial thought. Memphis makes some sense, too. Them, LSU, and Oregon seem to run in the same recruiting circles. This is someone we’ve talked to, but I rate this as very low odds. Edwards might be best suited as a backup PG who comes off the bench looking to score, kind of 6th man gunner type. But not sure Rick will play a average to below average defender at PG.Edwards needs to work on his shot hard in the off-season, and he could be a sharp shooter. I think he’s better suited as a 2.
Barnes needs to evolve, like the Miami coach. Look at Miami and UConn, you have to be able to score to advance. If you have trouble scoring 60 points, you’re generally going to get beat earlier than you should, like UVA.I think BJ has a high ceiling. His minutes this year are beyond explanation. i could understand a redshirt. I talked to someone close to him first hand so not relying on radio hosts. If that’s Edward’s plan, then kudos to him.
If Barnes would get off his grinding defensive practices, focus a little more on offense and evolve, I could see ZZ, Edward’s, Aidoo, Awaka, Mashack and that bunch developing into Barnes’s best team.
