2023 Transfer Portal - General NCAA Thread

Sounds like Muss is targeting Tylor Perry and then a big man to close things out but for that to happen someone will need to leave. My guess is the other Mitchell twin.

My prediction...and it is not based on knowing anything...is you do not take Tylor Perry, but you sneak in a surprise with El Ellis of Louisville + a big man.

That’s what the pay boards are saying now too. Apparently Perry wants to shop around some more but Muss wanted an answer now so he may have moved on to Ellis.

Portal season comes at you fast haha

I think Perry wants to see who will offer him the most, if no one comes with the right bag, he will just follow his former coach to TTU, because he will always have that spot open.

Same thing with the North Texas big man.

If y'all get Ellis and big man for depth, then I really like your team next year. Less NBA talent than you had this year, but I suspect it will be a better team come March. As usual, Musselman will have y'all playing your best come tournament time.

I like our team a lot from a maturity and experience standpoint. I think we will be tough. Unfortunately, I think both Duke and Kentucky will be really good next year. If Kansas gets Hunter Dickinson, then they will be right there. I am not as sold on Connecticut as the experts, but then I am not an expert.

I actually think Florida might be sneaky good next year also. I am always wrong on the Big 12, but I think they will drop significantly as a conference this upcoming year.

I think Duke, Kentucky, Tennessee, Kansas, and Arkansas will all be strong come tournament time next year. I suspect Purdue, Connecticut, Marquette, Arizona, Houston, and possibly Alabama will have strong regular seasons, but not be as strong next year as they were this year.

Arkansas expecting a few to hit the draft or something?

11 on roster (after 2 leaving in portal), 5 transfers committed, 2 incoming freshmen

I'm not a Mathologist, but that's 18 players and only 13 scholarships...

I mean Anthony Black & Nick Smith are probably going to the draft.

Derrian Ford, Joseph Pinion, Jordan Walsh all freshmen
Trevon Brazile is just a sophomore
Davonte Davis, Ricky Council IV both just juniors

I can only assume Mus is telling all his seniors to find a new home.

So he's gotta send all 4 seniors packing and if Black/Smith don't head for the draft he'll have to make room elsewhere still.

Walsh and Council are both going to the draft/overseas most likely. Davis is probably gone as well, he declared but also has the option to return to college. The thing is we can't just wait on his decision and end up with no one. So as bad as it would suck, if he comes back to college it may be somewhere else. That gets you to 13.

But if we add a big then someone else does have to leave - Mitchell or Graham probably.

Ricky Council is a projected 1st rounder, last mock draft I saw he was top 15. He's gone for sure

It's crazy though that all of those seniors are also previous transfers... Muss hates HS kids I guess :D

Idk I get the feeling JJJ may be coming back. I could be wrong but his tweet is just so similar to the one he sent out last year before deciding to return. So, you get everyone back, including JJJ, and Phillips does decide to transfer. You have 1 open spot. So then we end up choosing between Ledlum and Knecht after their visits if they both want in? I like both guys personally but I prefer Knecht because he’s a knockdown 3 point shooter. Then again JJJ could choose to move on, and in which case we can take both guys! I honestly don’t know what I would prefer. JJJ 100% healthy is probably better than Ledlum and maybe even Knecht, but can he get healthy is the question. I see us taking both Ledlum and Knecht after this weekend if both decide they like our program best.
Would prefer perry
