If this holds, which it won't we would have played 9 games against the top 15.Updated seed list today:
Purdue
Connecticut
Houston
North Carolina
——————————
TENNESSEE
Arizona
Wisconsin
Kansas
——————————
Marquette
Creighton
Baylor
Kentucky
——————————
Alabama
Auburn
Dayton
Iowa State
I'll be happy if we can manage one of the top two #2 seeds when the dust of the season settles.
Purdue is probably our worst matchup, but probably the most likely to get upset. For all of Barnes's postseason warts, Matt Painter suffers from the same affliction.I’m not concerned about the seed # so much as I am the draw. The perfect scenario would be to be in a region with a Purdue or some other matchup nightmare and then have them getting upset before facing us. And then not s******g the bed versus the easier opponent. Again.
I can go ahead and assure you that I’m not rooting for Duke or Kansas. Under no circumstances will I ever cheer for those two teams.Todays games:
12:00pm: Connecticut vs. St. John’s
2:00pm: Marquette vs. Georgetown
4:00pm: Houston vs. Kansas
6:30pm: Duke vs. North Carolina
8:00pm: Iowa State vs. Baylor
8:30pm: Mississippi State vs. Alabama
On the 3 games double bolded, just depends how greedy/aggressive you wanna be in your rooting. If you’re hoping for a 1/2 seed for Tennessee then you’re rooting for Kansas, Duke & Baylor, but you also open the door for those teams to pad you if Tennessee loses. If you wanna be more conservative and try to raise the floor of our seed then you’re likely rooting for Houston, North Carolina & Iowa State.
The good thing is with this slate of games this weekend for the top 10, that if we can pull out a win tonight then we will basically be back to where we started before the South Carolina loss.Todays games:

Kansas and Baylor winning helped us for the aggressive rooting, but got the most important result today and that was us winning at Rupp.Todays games:

Lunardi's bracket impact: Tennessee firmly made its case for a No. 1 seed by racing past Kentucky at Rupp Arena. The Vols' wire-to-wire victory certainly passed any possible "eye test," giving us five teams with legitimate top line profiles. The knee-jerk reaction after Saturday would be to drop Houston and move Tennessee up, but that would be the wrong impulse and unlikely what the committee would do in similar circumstances. The Cougars still have the metrics and wins to sit behind only Purdue and UConn, leaving UNC and UT for the final spot. The Tar Heels' slight edge is reinforced by a pre-conference win over the Vols. Kentucky, meanwhile, lost a chance to regain a top four seed while losing for the third time in four starts.
