I agree. I’ve seen A lot of Vance is “weird”. Ok, maybe so. I can see it. Let’s take a step back a second and look at the…„Weird“ is the new „democrat“ word of the week. They all coordinate. Haven’t seen that word this much since all the „learn this one weird trick“ clickbait ads and videos a while back. These people are unimaginative to the point of being pathetic.
How much sepearation is there from Biden/Harris and the prosecutors that accepted the plea deal?Biden/Harris administration does it again. Just when you thought they could not be any more despicable, they reach new lows as they continue to kick real Americans in the teeth. This time the families of 9/11 victims. If you support this administration or plan to vote for Harris, you are supporting absolute unabashed evil. Change my mind.

So is the bull$hit that anyone being critical of VP Harris will be considered a racist misogynist because they know that she’s not a good candidate to be President. Which by my estimation, and the Democratic primary voters in 2019, means the entire country is pretty much racist.Yes, and he used the future tense, knowing full well that the MAGA slobbering goobers couldn't contain their racism. So. Freaking. Predictable.

I would argue a lot of those examples aren't democracy but that aside, by pretty much any measure our democracy has been a success. Doesn't mean it'll continue to be a success
"We can't expect the American people to jump from capitalism to communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of socialism, until they awaken one day to find that they have communism.
Can't say we were not warned.
The American Republic (as it was set up originally) was the best of all worlds. The only thing really "democratized" was the election of the House, and, like it or not, the only people who could vote had an actual damn stake in the country. We've shat that all away by telling everyone their opinion and their voice matters. I'm not saying we need to have the government shut people up- but we stopped ignoring the imbeciles, and instead gave them more and more input.Same could be said in 2020. He opens his mouth too much.
As much as people crap on both candidates, it is what Americans vote for.
I could see the logic of Biden in 2020 (to some degree) but I literally cannot see how Americans would vote Democrat in 2024 due to the inflation/economic issues they have caused. This is an American Electorate problem.
Honestly, I have started questioning democracies for some time. Take Europe for example, a lot of their nations were more powerful when they had Catholic Monarchs like Austria with the Hapsburg, Spain with Isabella and Ferdinand (things went south for Spain when all their heirs died early and Hapsburgs inherited them and used Spain's wealth to fight wars in Belgium and Germany rather than make Spain wealthier. Had Isabella's descendants survived, Spain may have been in greater shape long-term), or the United Kingdom with Elizabeth, George II, Victoria, etc.
Take France. I jokingly (or somewhat jokingly) posted the French Flag prior to the Revolution and cited that the nation of France was far more stable and successful in the eras when it was under Kings and Queens than in the era from the French Revolution and after. The French Revolution was an utter failure and led to millions of deaths, war, disorder, instability, etc. Even then, France fell under a dictator, Napoleon Bonaparte, and then another King, Louis XVIII. France lost its place as the leading land power of Europe to Prussia (later Germany) and started an economic and influential decline.
It seems like having a system were ever vote is equal and you have people that vote for government benefits at the expense of others, people that vote uninformed, etc. is just not a good system. It worked throughout most of our nation's history because voters used to be informed and, frankly, our nation and communities were smaller so that you could often go meet candidates easily (you still can for some local elections).
We talk about the success of Democracy but it has failed in a lot of instances:
1. Athenian Republic - Conquered by Sparta and then Rome
2. Roman Republic - Became Dictatorship with Emperors
3. Weimar Republic - Seized by the Nazis
4. Russia Republic 1917 - Taken over by Communists
5. Russia Republic 1991-2000s - Taken over by Putin
6. French Republic - Fell to Directorate and then Napoleon. In fact, France is now on its 5th Republic
7. European Union - In economic, military, and influential decline globally (I am trying to sum up most of Europe here)
8. Chinese National Party - Conquered by Chinese Communists under Mao Tse Tsung
9. Afghanistan - Taken over by the Taliban shortly after US forces pulled out
10. Various nations in Africa - Constantly unstable, taken over by Dictators, and erupted into Civil War. I can describe Liberia, Sierra Leone, Rwanda, Somalia, or others
11. Venezuela - You see the results now
12. Galactic Republic - Taken over by Palpatine and the Sith. Reorganized into the First Galactic Empire (I am making a joke here)
Perhaps someone can explain more how our system works because it doesn't seem to be working.
I know this rubs a lot of people on here but it seems like the only ingredient that kept the West together and made it successful was the Christian, Moral principles that emerged among the various nations in Europe during the Medieval Eras based off the writings of the Bible and Ancient Israel.
I am glad to hear a counter opinion to everything that I said above. I want to love Democracy and Freedom but it just doesn't seem to work. It tends to breed selfishness and dependency.
I also know there is some rambling in here but that is the way my brain works.
Yea, a few months ago the topic of Kamala from the left was "she's negatively impacting Joe Biden should he replace her on the ticket" and "voters don't like her".…and put the news, search engines and social media into gaslight overdrive. So funny watching Harris go from unliked ineffective candidate 15 minutes ago to glowing superstar of hope. It’s blatantly obvious who is just waking up every morning and parroting talking points.

Reminds me of how the MAGA faithful wait for Trump to drop the next "sleepy Joe" or "crooked Hillary" moniker and then start regurgitating it.„Weird“ is the new „democrat“ word of the week.
