This guy is a disaster. No adjustment to the minimum wage in 15 years.

His response is basically there should be no minimum wage. And they hate unions. So let the powerful corporations have full control over your pay and you should have no ability to band together with other workers to advocate otherwise.

Gonna play real well to the average working man.

Correct........1
Which is the same number as that of "existential threats to American Democracy".
Nobody has an answer for this.* They just insist that it’s not what it clearly was and laugh at people pointing out what it was.

But then they get offended when you point out that they are gullible or believe what they want to be true.

*- hat tip to @volfanhill for blaming the lawyers. The only substantive answer I’ve gotten, and from a guy who doesn’t even defend Trump.

EXCLUSIVE: Neighbors of Pedophile Adrian Gonzalez who Brutally Raped and Murdered Madyson Middleton, 8, Fear His Release as jury decides his fate thanks to Kamala Harris-Backed Reforms

The former neighbors of a violent pedophile who raped and murdered an eight-year-old girl say they are living in fear of his release from jail under a juvenile justice reform proposition authored by presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

Adrian 'AJ' Gonzalez was just 15 when he brutally choked and stabbed innocent Madyson Middleton after luring her into his mother's apartment in Santa Cruz, California, with promises of ice cream.

He also raped her as she lay dying and then wrapped her body in a trash bag before leaving it in a dumpster beneath the Tannery Arts Center apartment complex where they both lived.

Now 24, the evil killer could be released due to the 2016 ballot initiative backed by Kamala Harris during her tenure as California Attorney General.

Prop 57, written by Kamala Harris and passed by voters in November 2016, prevents even the most serious juvenile offenders from automatically facing charges as an adult without a full hearing in front of a judge

..but protest at the Capitol and get indefinite imprisonment with no hearing.

You realize several powerful corrupt corporation who donate to the DNC pay well over minimum wage.

What should the wage be at Burger Joint No. 1 with a 16 Yr Old Kid starting in the work place?

You do understand the correlation between high wages and the final cost of the goods no??

Democrat Platform Pledges Federal Implementation of Same Gun Controls That Are Failing in California

The Democrats used their 2024 party platform to pledge federal implementation of universal background checks, an “assault weapons” ban, a “high capacity” magazine ban, and numerous other California-style gun controls.

The platform also intimates the Democrat Party plans to open gun manufacturers up so they can be sued over the criminal use of firearms.

Good luck with that.

Did Democrats not cry Existential Threat to Democracy over Voting Rights Act?
Let's see...we've had existential threats from:
- climate change legislation
- voting
- covid rules and mandates
- tax code and rates
- immigration
- guns
- women's health
- police brutality
- spending bills
- budget items like "defense"
- debt ceilings
- acts of terror
- airport security

Donald Trump seems to have an odd fixation with Taylor Swift. He seems to genuinely care about who she endorses for President (Why?) ..... You are 78 years old, Donny.

Since she has resisted his desperate pleas for an endorsement since before the Super Bowl, Trump has now resorted to using fake AI generated images of her and her supporters, which purport to show her endorsing him for President.

That is just plain creepy. On top of being a narcissist, who obsesses over stupid things .... he now comes across as a dirty old man, stalking a 34 year old pop star.

There is something deeply pathetic about this.
No more creepy than the 34 year old pop star singing about high school boys and teenage breakups.

There shouldn't be a federal minimum wage, anyone that didn't ride the short bus and eat paste knows this.

Kamala Harris Hires Disgraced Russia Hoaxer Marc Elias for Election Legal Team

1724091365621.png

CHICAGO, Illinois — Vice President Kamala Harris has hired disgraced “Russia collusion” hoaxer Marc Elias to help lead her massive team of election lawyers as they prepare to fight former President Donald Trump and the Republicans over voting results.

Elias will join a team of lawyers that is reportedly ten times larger than the team of 600 lawyers that then-candidate Joe Biden boasted he had hired in the summer of 2020 to challenge election results in close contests nationwide.

Elias runs the so-called “Democracy Docket,” suing on behalf of Democrats and claiming to defend “democracy” in doing so. He played a key role in planting the “Russia collusion” hoax, which sought to undermine the results of the 2016 presidential election. He was also instrumental in suing states to change their voting laws ahead of the 2020 presidential election to enable mass vote-by-mail, a tactic that was crucial to Democratic turnout in swing states.

We’ve had a lot of Existential Threats over these last few years. So many that I considered starting a thread just to track them, but never did.

Some of the bigger ones I remember:

Voting Rights Act
Climate Change
Covid
Trump/Maga/GOP
Gun Violence

IMO the biggest "existential threat to American Democracy" are the people campaigning on increased federal power.

The only use of the min wage is to pump up wages for union labor. It's not useful in any other way

I'm on board with no minimum wage requirements.

Barring collusion, the market will figure out the worth of goods and services. Deregulating the private market would likely result in innovation and competition, spurring company growth and resulting in demand for more and higher paying jobs.

Paying $15/hr for someone taking a order at McDonalds is nonsensical. Next, they'll be demanding health benefits.
