Yes. That is a government subsidy. The government has no business issuing discounts for backup generators.Letting people keep more of their own money they earned is now considered a gov't subsidy?
I always tho't about getting a small backup generator, next year may be the time.
I am coming to realize if you hate something Trump does, then it must be a good thing for the rest of us.
Against both, and all the other crazy crap that both Trump and Kamala are promising knowing damn well they have no shot in hell of passing any of these things through Congress.Funny how the people who were vehemently against govt subsidizing solar energy are 100% for govt subsidizing generators because Trump proposed it....
Trump is at least offering the tax write off, he cannot force people to take advantage of what he's offering but people like me appreciate such offerings.Funny you think half those people do taxes? Second, there is more than half of them doing 1040ez Tax Filing if they are filing at all. At presence, I am almost certain that they are not worried about their TY24 Tax Filing. You seem to think so it appears. Keep your receipts because you may need them.
subsidizing them would be the gov't taxing money away from John and then give the taxed money to Tom so Tom can buy a generator using John's money. People will buy a generator with their OWN money and write if off, no money is taxed away(stolen) from one person then given to another person.Because the government would be cutting your taxes to incentivize the purchase.
Allowing people to have a tax write off in order to keep more of their OWN money they worked for is not a hand out.
I have my CPA itemize all kinds of deductions, how is that subsidizing you?So, you good with people doing that for solar? Good with all those incentives in IRA?
We can get caught up in all the semantics but this is absolutely taxpayers subsidizing other taxpayers who are buying a generator. If you spend 10K and you are in the 30% bracket, you are getting a 3,000 subsidy via your tax return. No different than someone getting a 30% subsidy for IRA credits...
We need to lower the rate and get rid of all the preferences. The founding fathers intended taxes to fund the enumertaed responsibilities of the federal govt and not to be used to redistribute wealth (Dems) or these proposals you've seen from Trump...
