The constitution grants states the power to run elections and set the standards for voters within the state (minus criteria established in the constitution) so any federal legislation dictating how states conduct elections would be unconstitutional.

My thoughts are simple. Putin cannot allow Ukraine to join NATO, that would be admitting defeat and the wasting of Russian lives andnt treasure for nothing so IMO an invitation to NATO just might push Russia to use weapons of mass destruction. How could he stay in power with such a defeat?

If Putin did use a nuke or biological/chemical weapon in Ukraine I think NATO would be compelled to join the war regardless of Ukrainian membership. NATO cannot allow the use of a WOMD on European soil to go unchallenged.

Does Ukraine have sovereignty and autonomy over its affiliations?

Typically the two terms are somewhat interchangeable, even though there are varying formal differences that are accepted. You get into some real hair splitting here.

However, (right, wrong, or indifferent) in the everyday world Hispanic often is thought of as mexican, whereas latino is more associated with the vast majoirty of carribbean and lower central and south america...non-mexican. You don't want to mistake a Guatamalen for instance for a Mexican...to his face. An insult that would rile 'em up.

Once they kicked him to the curb, the party had to quickly rally behind one person and picking a senator or governor may have opened the door to other senators and governors asking “why not me?” A contested convention would have been a mess.

@Orangeslice13 had this conversation when it happened. He pointed out that she was an awful candidate, and I agreed, but I thought she was the best choice they could make under the circumstances. Circumstances created by Biden leveraging his incumbency to squash the primary field before it got started.

Ironically, I’m not sure he would have done much worse if they had just left him on the ticket. That might be one the worst performances by a Democrat since Mondale.

He should have let it be known he was not running after the mid-terms and endorsed her or endorsed and open primary.

I can refer to people from central and south america as hispanic but they may consider that as me using it as a euphemism for 'someone from Mexico'?

Sure but they don't have to be extended an invitation nor does NATO have to accept them.

IMO the best course of action would be for the US to propose a treaty with Russia (actually put it in writing) saying Russia get out completely including Crimea and Ukraine will never be allowed to join NATO but will be under the protective umbrella if attacked. No NATO forces will enter of be stationed in Ukraine. Gives Putin a win he can sell to his people if he took the deal.

All of social media was basically government controlled at that point; hell even Zuckerberg came out and said they were unduly influenced by the Dems. If most of your media and all of the social media is controlled by one side, it’s over for the other side.

Yes. Elon is the hero we needed. He basically risked his entire fortune and maybe even his freedom (many of the left actually want to jail him) in order to First buy X and then to back Trump.
If Kamala had have won; SpaceX would have been blackballed by the US government and hobbled by endless regulatory hurdles and Twitter would have been fined, censored, and eventually cancelled.
